About as close to truggy as I could get without a cab wall.

I like it a lot! As you know I like the truggy style lol

My only nitpick thing is you can see into the body and the electronics. Do you plan on making something for that?

No, no solid plans for hiding it. I decided "scale" doesn't bother me much, I have more fun trying to break it than chilling on the trail side with my fake jerry cans haha. Could slap a piece of styrene in there but not worried about it right now. I can angle my pics for the gram so you don't notice the obviously fake truck is fake

In other news I watched Harley's unboxing of the Gatekeeper and now I want one even more. Like daydreaming about it want it.

Anyways, it does look great!

I need to change the thread title to Phildirt's That Escalated Quickly Trailwalker . Went from 'I think I like these 1.5's, they have a challenging/chill vibe and I like the scale factor' to 'let me hack this thing to pieces and see if I can fit the biggest 1.9s on the market under it so I can climb Mt Everest' in like 4 pages. Not bad.

I feel like there will be a JP1 body and 4.75s on it in about 2 more pages haha.

Edit: or broken drive shafts or c hubs. These tires are ridonkulous. Gonna see if it can still go fast enough for me to walk alongside haha.

Taking her out to the spot tomorrow and Saturday where I broke the SCX102 last time...my in-laws live out in the woods and its super fun to crawl the ditches on their dirt roads because of the culverts under the driveways. Big rocks. Will take some pics of Truggy doing Truggy Things.

Holy hacksaw! WTH just happened!

I think that is the fastest transformation I've seen in any thread that I've read!

I gotta say though, it doesn't look too bad! I like how you cut the bed! Gives the truck a mean look and shouldn't have an tire rubbing issues!

You could flip the rear bumper mount over to lift up the bumper. That would give you more clearance in the rear. Possibly hack on the bumper to get it to slide in a bit more.

I'll be curious to see how long them plastic c-hubs last. On my Enduro, I didn't even wait to find out how long they would last, I swapped them out to aluminum before I punished it too hard.

Can't wait to see the running pics!

Well that escalated quickly...

But I like what you've done. I've got two trucks that are full bodies and one that's a cab with some sort of rear cage.

Not to hijack Phildirts thread, but is your cage custom? If so, how’d you do it? I’m trying to figure out a cage for my rig and need some ideas.

Yeah...my plan is to go ahead and buy the c hubs now, but don’t install them until I have to. Super curious to see how long a stock Enduro can hold up with what basically amounts to a 2.2 setup. My guess is the servo will be the first victim though, but that’s ok I have a better one waiting to come off the bench haha.

We will see how long this current look lasts, I really really like the Jp1 body/tsl idea. Will probably pull these boggers and save them for the Gatekeeper. Cool part about lexan, it is relatively cheap. Good news for someone like me that has the attention span of a goldfish

I’ve got a JP1 on my GSpeed chassis with enduro axles. Great looks (in my opinion, though not everyone agrees, and that’s ok!) but I think I like the departure angle the most beneficial part of the body. It really keeps the back end from dragging on a lot of obstacles. As a bonus it comes with a bunch of hard parts that are mostly optional with my only complaint being no good way to keep LED’s in the bucket aside from some e6000.

Enough of my rambling, don’t you have a body to continue to hack up?!?

Little side hill action shot. Adventuring tomorrow, just tooled around their front yard a little today.

It runs fine on these tires as far as speed, no noticeable difference. Tires do what you’d expect gigantic out of scale tires to do

Found a cool little spot. Construction site with a drainage pond. Run off made some neat scale canyons. Was a little dirty but very challenging. Only took a few photos, too busy driving truck did really well. More fun every time I crank it up, starting to get a feel for it.

Even with all of the hacking it still rubs but only when really pushing it. Not enough to bother me.

Pretty good center of gravity, I can push it pretty far before it tips.

I like how you cut off the back of the bed. Almost gives it a truggy look. Those big tires make it look mean. I'm digging it!
