Default Hacksaw's Homebrew

So here's the start my build, I figured I would just build most of the parts myself, throw them together and see what flies and what falls... This will be a rather slow build as I'm trying to gather parts as cheap as possible.

Let me know what you all think Oh yeah just got the vxl-3 set up last week hope to install that this weekend.

Thanks, I spent a little time this afternoon and got the tranny and the vxl-3 system mounted, I'm pretty happy with the way that turned out mounting wise, also made some aluminum servo mounts to mount the steering servo up. Will post some pictures soon.

Purpose built and up to know good ! Looking great ! I am accumulating parts as we speak. I don't think it will be as pretty as yours. What spur and pinion are you using ? Ratio and pitch ? How about brand while you are at it ? LOL!

Thank you, the spur is a 32p 54 tooth Associate NTC3 and a 18 tooth RR pinion, I also have A 20 tooth but have to modify the motor plate to fit that, nothing major just slot the holes more, but I got lazy. I'll try this combo and see how it does.

So I made some progress, I've got A few things to sort out still, but is coming together.

I moved the speed control up front to gain more room for battery and rx.

The wraith wheels are just for mock up the offset is way narrow and the wheels seem flimsy and weak.

Got the body mounted and painted, wheel base at 14".

Got the steering dialed in, up nice and tight every thing clears nicely.

Was able to use and old drive shaft up front with minor modification, still sorting out the rear shaft it's pretty long 142mm +/- but I've got some stuff brewing thanks to all of you for your info on the MIP post.
