| are there any sawback problems to watch for?
im about to pull the trigger and get a sawback, but i want to know after you guys have had yours for a while what to watch out for... i know what i have read, and there are a few little things here and there that have come off negative, like the ring and pinion(do the axials fit?) and trans gears. how are they really holding up?

the trans gears are all 32p and very wide, I trust them just as much as the RRP steel gears in my scx10, no issues there. I've beat my truck a bit here and there and nothing broken yet except a battery zip-tie that snapped from the cold.

I'm happy so far. The rig is a little stiff. I'm playing with the leaf springs in hopes of making the front end a little softer. In the kit you get the main leaf and two helpers. I've just placed the small helper on top of the main leaf and used the included zip ties (you'll see what I mean). Seems a little softer but did not improve articulation. I've also ordered the skid plate from Scaler Fab, we'll see if this improves ride height or just makes the drive shaft angle worse. I've also ordered the metal c hubs, knuckles, and cvd's. Not because anything has broken, just hoping to improve the amount of steering I have.

i have a set of rc4wd red leafs collecting dust if they are too stiff for me. got em' for my bruiser but the old warpig is too heavy for them.. that driveshaft angle does have me abit concerned, but nobody is complaining so i guess it works... rpp said a week or 2 yesterday, come on christmas!

I have been kicking the snot out of mine and she keeps on going. Any rig will have a downside out of the box or kit...it's your job to mod accordingly for you and your needs.

I think some spots on the body are a bitch to paint nicely. |

Body trim lines are pretty evident. The body is fairly think. Mine has a slight warp in it however. The area where the sides meet the rear deck area is a pain to paint as LumTheMad has said.

what kind of room is there for tires? i see the ones on it are 4.2", good enough for the trails i usually run, but i hate the way they look and am going to order a set when i get the kit. i have a set of rc4wd steelies that are stripped and appropriately rusted for the build i have in mind, so pitbulls and proline swamper xls are out... RC4WD Gladiator Scale 1.9 Tires (2) i was thinking about the rc4wd gladiators, they have a retro tread look to them, but mainly, i dont have them yet.. any other ideas with a compatible square bead? |

yea erik i got it... all in all im impressed with the fit and finish. honestly i wasnt expecting too much, but am pleasantly surprised. there are some odd bits here and there. the trans doesnt have a slipper, the driveshafts are suspect, and the ring and pinion design is iffy... all that said, it runs awesome. the suspension is better than i thought, and for a leafer, she twists up pretty good. wanna get out tomorrow and see what we can break? dan and i were talking about early afternoon, but dont know where... |

Looking good! Is that Hunter Dan driving? Any issues with axle wrap? I got rid of the TF2 because the only way I could get it to flex good would cause the springs to wrap under power. From what I've read though, the springs flex better in this. |

dan is at the controls. i havent had any bent up springs yet... one thing that it did say in the instructions- instead of stacking the leaves in descending size downward to firm up the suspension, like a standard leaf pack, they say if you are going to run it soft, take the middle leaf and put it on top of the main leaf. it will actually tension and bend against it self and deter axle wrap.(it works!) i might be explaining this badly, i can take a pic if the words dont make sense... i know your trucks... pick one up. you wont be sorry, just grab a set of shooter shackles from rc4wd at the same time as your order, this lil jeep needs a bit more room to stretch her legs. well that and you will need a rollcage or that windsheild wont last 10 minutes |

tried strapping the opposite side of the leaf from the twisted one with a zip tie to increase tension? seems that would end the twist up yet still allow for a soft spring set up..
