Got a few little pieces done before heading to work. Looks like I'll get the upper cage wrapped up tonight...then I can move on to the front end. |

Awesome tuber JIA. How do you fishmouth the joints on the small tubing? Getting ready to build a tuber. Thanks in advance for any help.

I'm using a little Lincoln Pro-Mig 135 wire feed welder for this. Tack it in place with the Mig then braze the joint. |

bandit, brazing is easy once you learn how. I bugged Roktoy (Jay Kopycinski) and John Boyer for a few minutes to learn the basics. Fun stuff once you learn how. If you want to learn...http://www.rccrawler.com/tuber.htm Been sick the past couple of days, haven't done anything to the truck. I figure I'll go out in a few to wrap up the top side of the cage and add the spare tire mount. Pics later. ;) Last edited by JasonInAugusta; 01-04-2006 at 08:01 PM. |

Didn't get as much done as I wanted, but it's progress. In this pic it looks like the spare it tilted. That's due to the nose of the chassis being a bit high when I snapped the pic. Trust me, the tire sits vertical. I also changed the last portion I added to the upper cage. It was a hair low and it just bugged the crap outta me. I cut it off and raised it a hair...mo bettah! Compared to my other 1:18 Jeep with 4 coils cut. The overall frame/hood won't be but a hair longer than stock. Last edited by JasonInAugusta; 01-04-2006 at 10:39 PM. |
