| Maxstone 10 budget build
I just bought my second Maxstone 10 because I liked the first one so much. I am doing what I think it takes to make it a bit better at a time, with budget in mind. If I can make it or mod it that will be my first plan, then buy what is needed. If something breaks it will be upgraded. I will appreciate any suggestions but I am thinking I will never be at a comp, just bashing.

This is what I'm starting with, almost an ax10 clone. Comes with waterproof electronics and alloy links. Very top heavy and lots to torque twist out of the box.

You should epoxy/jb weld the inside of the connect box (that thing I was asking in the other thread if you filled with JB weld) seems its part hollow and the stock electronics can handle 3s? and what kind of lipo do you use? do let us know if the tire mod helps |

Hobbyking nanotech 1300mah 2s for the kids and 3s for me. The tires sure have a lot more grip to the touch, haven't been able to see the ground for a couple weeks so no idea how they will do in the real world.

What kind of C rating does it have? as I have 4 3s 1000mah 20-30c burst with tiny jst connectors on and don't wanna stress it 20-30 amps or 222-333 ish watts

Cut 16mm out of the wheels and glued back together with ABS cement. Should give a bit more clearance for steering mods.

Nice, I wouldn't of though of using something like that. Which is good for weight on wheels too? Do the tires still fit with the thinner rims? |

My brother has one, they're awesome for the money, but the first thing I would do is get stronger axles,he packed his lockers with jb weld because they kept stripping, and still has an issue with stripping them, that is really my only complaint with it, other than that its been good

Bringing some news. I was reading around bout the diffs breaking and the axles that go into them also breaking, but not as much. (is the shaft going from trans to diff also called a axle?) you may be able to keep the old diff box or get a new axial one without modding, get the metal diffs from axial $15 pair and then, a gasket? AX30385 idk if thats really needed or not. Grind down the old axles so they fit the new locker, and then when they break get the SCX10 axial ones if they fit says 6x74mm and look the same well there is only a short flat part instead of a short and long. |
