| UTRCRC Considering a Spec Class
Me and Kaetwo were talking and are considering a spec class for UTRCRC to replace the dying Super class. The spec class would be this: Axial AX-10 - completely box stock - no hop-ups (that means kit tires, body & shocks, etc. - what you get out of the box is what you are running) - 55t motor (kit gearing 14/87) - An ESC that retails for less than $70 (Novak XRS, Futaba MC230CR, Tamiya TEU-10 BK, Runner, Tomahawk, Traxxas XL1) - A servo that retails for less than $50 (HS-645MG, JR126MG, 3003, 94157 ) - Any Radio - Any battery - must mount on the stock battery tray (yes, way up on top) - No wheel weight (tire or rim) What do you guys think? |

Sounds like fun. I was thinking that the AX-10 would be perfect for something like this too.

That sounds like a great idea. Nationals will probably be the last time I run a super class vehicle. I keep coming back to them and I'm always disappointed with how they perform compared to the 2.2s. That spec class seems like a great idea. I don't like the esc limitation idea, mostly because I love the mamba max. The rest of it seems fine to me. Last edited by Cloak; 08-21-2007 at 10:19 AM. |

Why not an unlimited 2.2 class (less restiction) or a 14er class?

Spec class sounds good for both new comers and seasoned crawlers testing driving skill rather than rig capability. Too though if or when more RTR crawlers come out, they should be allowed in the spec class too. IE if HPI releases a Crawler King version of the WK. |

ORCRC plans to run spec AX10 class as well. box stock AX10 55t lathe any radio/speed control/battery Debate on wheel wheights is ongoing. Looking for a class that is truely a drivers class with trucks that could be competitive (sp?) for $500. Chad- |

I thought supers were coming back ;) We should post something in utrcrc to see who all has them and maybe we could incorporate it into the st george comp just to see how it goes? I know me you brett and rory have one... thats enough! well done EDIT- would axial hop up options be banned in the class? Last edited by dirk379; 08-21-2007 at 10:38 AM. |

it wouldn't really be a spec class then. it would have to change to a Stock class or something like that. | ||||

I think this is a killer idea. It is a great class for the new guys... Maybe open the 2.2 class to include rear steer. I too was never really happy with my Super and it's performace compared with the 2.2, and I had more money in the super... I say CO sould start this class too. |

love the idea, but maybe allow changes such as moving the battery to on top of the front axle only, changing the shocks/springs as long as they are the same size, and limited tire weight. this would keep it in spec since all of these changes are mentioned in the manual and the shock/battery hop up parts will be available from axial.

I'd allow the Novak Rooster Crawler brushed ESC to be used, it's $89. Would be a shame to not use such a good esc that's only $19 more. |

Cool idea, and should allow noobs/broke people to compete with ease. It'll show some driving skills off as well. |
