Post some pics of your truck when you get the method wheels on. I'm curious to see how it looks. I'm also looking at either gearhead wheels, SSD wheels and the methods.

I’ve emailed HPI to see if I can get a date of release for their upgrade parts. 100% want the Servo horn, chubs and knuckles as well as the cvds. I’ll see what happens if they respond. For now I’m gonna gather the scx10 parts and see what fits lol.

I have a set of SCX10 CVD's sitting on my work bench to try when the truck gets here. I also just ordered a 3D printer and I already have Autocad so what the aftermarket doesn't supply, I can make to an extent at least. lol.

Keep us posted in both fronts. I'm more interested in aftermarket goodies but will take what I can get. Haha

I'm with Jfrisch on this if HPI can get us some sort of dates on upgrades that would be great! I'd like to see all these and a hardened gear set as well. I think is HPI can get the hop up and stock parts out in a timely manner this truck has a solid chance of becoming popular. I don't think that there will be many axial parts to fit it. Maybe some aftermarket parts for axial trucks may fit.

We’ll see what happens. I have a set of vanquish vvds im going to try. I do know that an axial bumper (with the with the posts) fit into the ventures.

Sorry, stupid phone. The axial bumpers with the 2 posts that mount with set screws fit into the ventures bumper mount. Haven’t seen if the ones like wertymade, etc do but I will be trying it soon. For now I want more turning radius. So hopefully those vvds fit lol.

Scx10 parts update

C hubs on scx10 are a little bit bigger, surprisingly they have the same notches in them except for the notch for the spring that the venture has.

Knuckles as assumed are a little bit bigger on the scx10, so no go there.

Cvds are almost the same length using the same bearings. The issue that comes up is the notches in the shaft that slide into the locker are not long enough on the scx10 vvds so it will not sit flush with the bearing. Bearings are the same size, so on the plus size you could use fast eddy bearings to have sealed bearings instead of what comes stock.

I did notice after tearing into it that there is a spacer on the shock shaft just like the scx10’s so I figure you could cut that off to gain a little flex if wanted. I really like the shocks, with the exception of the plastic collar nut. It’s nice because it works smooth now but it could potentially break, just an fyi.

So, needless to say I’m tapping my fingers for those upgraded parts from Hpi lol.

Notice the notches in the shafts are not the same. I’m not gonna ruin a set of vvds (even though they are horribly dirty) to see if modifications will allow it to fit.

C hubs are slightly smaller than scx10’s, you can see in the pic. That’s a “the scale shop” brass knuckle for scx10.

So close but so far away!

That's what I suspected with the Venture. I noticed differences right away on this from axial. I don't have any issues with the dog bone drives. The c-hubs have a built in steering stop that may have to be sanded off for more steering angle. Overall the steering on this truck is pretty good in stock form.

Makes you wonder though, things are sooo close to matching. With the exception of a front motor mount and behind the axle steering it’s close. I like it regardless. It has scx10 similarities, ascender (cms), as well as their own. Figured I would give it a try since I was checking the cvds anyway.

Glad you checked but I figured it wasn't going to be an easy swap. Just going to have to wait and see who or what comes.

Well guys here’s your answer.

I emailed Hpi to see if they had a date of release for the cvds, Servo horn, alum knuckles and c hubs. After multiple messages on Facebook, and only 3 days wait for a response via email this is what they said:

Does he mean 2018 or 2019... we’ll never know!

Patiently waiting now
