Yes... honestly, I will prolly get what ever is on sale at Menards... Sandcrete looks the best but Sakrete is cheaper. Might build it up with Sackrete and skim coat with sandcrete. Keep your Receipts so the sponsors can reimburse you if this goes thru.

I have been promised an answer by the end of the week, I hope to here sooner.

yea, I was also thinking about maybe skimming it with straight porclain cement. You can get a 90# bag for like 18bux at home depot. That'd make it nice n smooth!

Yes, Portland Cement skimmed would make a nice smooth surface and very strong.

I could pitch in to help if you'll let me know when.

I appreciate all of the support I am getting from SCRC along with CIRC (name pending) and Twisted Crawlers... This is by far more effort than I have seen from the pullers and hopefully will assure that we get the spot. Im also working to make this a LARGE comp on Saturday of the show.

I looked up pictures from Omaha, to me it doesnt look like we need to even think about replicating what they had. What I saw looked actually a little pathetic for a big comp, defiantly not what we want to showcase the sport. If we do this right, I think we can have crowds around our booth all day Sat/Sun and hopefully vendors asking to demo products Thur/Fri.

When you guys start making your own sections, make sure to take some pics so that we don't duplicate. Im sure we will all get together for at least a couple build days but, concrete cant all be laid in 1 day.

Can someone grab 3-4 pallets for me to use?

I'll keep an eye out, we sometimes get them with the fuel shipments from Great Planes. If not the truck driver may have some that would otherwise get tossed when he gets back to the hub he works out of.

sort of update...
no news on the go/no go Ive sent a couple emails but no reply.

Just spoke with RC Hobbies, he was asking about it... it seems that in his lease, he has use of the parking lot on weekends as long as it does not disrupt traffic flow... What this means is that we can use these course sections to hold comp in their parking lot. This would give use an additional venue for our point series. I haven't talked with HobbyTown yet but, I would guess they would be willing to let us setup on a race day also.

Haven't recieved a final answer from the iHobby staff yet but should by Friday 21st. So far the crawlers have a better commitment and plan together so there's a very good chance this will be a go.

Default We are a GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I received the GREEN light for the I hobby course!!!!

What I need from people:

5 drivers for each day of the show to put on Demos. I think you get either free or very discounted admission, I will find out more.

Judges for the Comp on Saturday

Course construction help and materials

Sponsors if you know a LHS or are connected to a business in the hobby industry, talk to them or put them in contact with me.

Ideas for the courses.

There are a block of Hotel rooms reserved for the event, I will most likely stay at the hotel for at least a couple nights so I don't have to make the drive.
