Jeff, I've been racing carpet in Danville and once in a while off-road in Joliet.

Seems like I always had something come up to keep me from going to the indoor comps. That and the location because my Saturdays are are up north, Northfield, Northbrook, Glenviwe and Highland Park.

VTA sort of dried up down in Central Ill. I think they still have a very strong following at Underground Raceway located at 54th and State St. in Chicago.

BTW: You will have to mill out the area under the pinion gear in order to use a gear larger than a 38 in the TC3. I had to do that in mine.

For VTA we were using gearing down to 4.2 FDR which would be a 42T pinion and a 72T spur (standard in a TC3). A 40 gives you an FDR of 4.5 and a 38 yields a 4.7. Now this is with the Novak 21.5 motor used as a spec for VTA.

Yeah but, I'm still alive.

I'm going with the 4600 combo since I don't plan to actually race. 2s should net me good speed and long run times, 3s for the drag races you know we will have

I brought the 5b up yesterday and then we were watching powerblock today and they had 5b ss on horsepower and she said it would be perfect for out at the farm... I showed her what they cost at tower and she didnt mind...

Price wise the ss isnt much more than a clone. I did a bunch of research on the clones and found that the one is supposed to be really good but, it still a clone and I just am not sure I would want to spend that much and risk it. Either way, chances are I wont be getting 1 anytime soon. Even though she is for it, I cant justify spending that much on an rc car.
