from what i read the nwi gang seems like a cool bunch of guys, but i know running a 50pt sorrca rig and losing to somebody running a stocker scx with openlugs, (and having that person brag about the win) would get under my skin.

i think i might just try to hit a couple of the bigger sorrca comps that are within driving distance come warm weather.

I beat em up with my fat sorcca rigs... so much of it comes down to driver ability.

but... take the mall crawler class for example. a bone stock scx on 4.19's would womp the **** out of my 58pt sorrca c1 rig.

i just really like the sorrca rules. they might be intimidating for some or too involved, but they reward scale builds and builders and the way the scale points work allows the builders who love things like transfer cases and cms to be competitive against the guys who do the bare minimum and have a more capable rig because of it.

imho, this is a SCALE truck. and with sorrca rules i get rewarded for it. with the nwi rules i have alot of useless work into it that limits its ability against a kit built scx on 4.19's

You are absolutely correct Jason. Nwi rules are kinda dumb.

But like john said. Not really any drivers down there. The Chicago guys are your only real competition.

And who cares if some kid brags about winning in an unknown series.

I don't really understand what Matt was talking about though... he said he thinks SORCCA is set up to favor the guys with the most money.
I don't know what that means compared to his rules?
Still seems whoever can afford aftermarket tires (or other junk) over a stock guy is gonna have an advantage.

the sorrca rules didnt come out the gate they way they are now, its people exploiting the rules and taking advantage of what isnt said that leads any racing organization to revise the next years rules.

its alot of work to get a rig to 40 or 50 scale points. way more than just emptying ones pockets on cake decorating items.

Well not trying to argue but I think deep pockets make it really easy to hit a 50-60 point scale rig.

i don't think you need to have any custom or home made part to hit it. With all the vendors it make it even easier

damn, i just got in a kinda heated flamewar with one of my moms friends on facebook... theres federally protected land in arizona that is held sacred by the apache tribe and i posted a online petition on her fb wall, and one of her friends chimes in saying that the apaches 'already have hundreds of acres to dance and pray on, and they are just whining over land they dont own...'

reading between the lines its obvious she has no respect for the apaches.

so i call her out and tell her that i dont care what was given to the apaches, its land they own sacred and its a federally protected national park, and she comes back with 'i will not be baited by you, so kiss off shithead'

this is like, at least a 60 year old lady...

so i replied to not let the door hit her on her way out.
