Got my signs in for my track if I ever find time to build it. Nice stuff, good plastic, nice depth to the work and they will do anything you ask for.

LOL< Anyone want to come work on some projects? I don't think I have a running truck.

Wraith is waiting on installation of the new Winch Controller and the waterproofed BEC and Receiver - all here

Hilux need the front fenders trimmed, interior assembled, battery cable extend to the box in the bed and need to work on lowering the rear ride height and raise the front.

The rest? Electronics and tranny swap in the Betty, Motor re-install and button up the Mog, Shift servo install and button up the TF2, complete build of the Willys, tranny swap on the blue Hilux with lights install and finish up the electronics and waiting on the chassis for the JK. All while trying to move cross country and build a house and 3 outbuildings.

Sure you don't want to build stuff for me? lol.

Edit: its pretty much what neil posted earlier. I should be able to kick its ass in 2wd on 3s all day right? How about 4wd/3s?

LOL. That will work fabulous!!

Pretty much what I have in mine, except the motor is a Novak 550 can 3800kv but think its still only a 2 pole, whereas the castle is 4 pole. Only reason I went with it as opposed to the Castle was that the Castle wasn't on the ROAR chart, when I looked before, and the track closest to me was following those recommendations.

I don't think there really is any difference between the Mamba Pro and the Mamba Pro SCT, except badging... not like the Sidewider vs Sidewinder V2.

Only thing I can say is that with the servo I have I did run a Castle BEC with a JR 9100S servo. Now, I realized that I had the wires backwards (on the Novak with the sensor it matters, ugh) and that was the reason for my glitching at low speeds; not sure I needed the BEC, but too late I'd already done it.

I've never run any of the old Tamiy's: Monster Beetle, Lunchbox, Frog, Hornet... but I kind of want one of these... I've resisted for years.

I think I had them all, or a good portion of them. They were fun then but co pared to what we do now, slow and fragile. I know I had the Hornet, Grasshopper, Sand Scorcher, Lunchbox, Clod X 4 and a few Blackfoots. All were fun and we still have 2 Clods down south at my Son's.

what does the kv value actually mean on these fast brushless motors? in english.. what will the 2400kv motor do differently than the 3800kv in the exo terra?

Well, basically, Brushless motors are given a Kv rating, which is RPM per volt, that lets you determine how fast that motor will rotate with a given voltage supplied to it. A 980Kv motor powered by an 11.1V battery would spin at 980 x 11.1 = 10878 RPM with no load.

At the same battery voltage and current rating, higher KV is better for speed runs. They have less torque, more speed and generate more heat. Lower KV motors are generally better for off-road and have more torque but less speed and generate less heat. Also, lower KV ratings typically can withstand much higher voltage.

It should also be noted that these rateings are not very accurate and one vendor's 1800KV motor could be different than anothers vendors.

Thanks Neil.. I'm leaning towards 2400kv after your lesson. Torquey but, can handle some voltage which will get me my speed.

I am still torn. I am not a speed demon and will normally run on 2S but the 2400 has a lot of attraction. I know the 3800 will be enough, but a little never hurts. The 2400s are a little tough to find ATM.

Hmmm. I don't think I will ever do another Tekin and MMP again. Still thinking about a Novak SC 4.5 also.

5.56 or the .22 LR? I would like the .22 version but not sure that it is worth the extra cost over a 10/22. Going to look at them week after next down south.

The .22; can't fire the 5.56 in the range nearest me (GAT).. there is one in Des Plaines that has some rifle ranges, but its a bit of a haul. Something different than firing my old Remington Speedmaster 22 rifle.
