So Johnny and I were talking today and basically here is what we came up with.

Sat. Events
  1. Hill Climb
    • Timed event.
    • Setup with 10 sets of gates with demarcation of a full climb.
    • Trucks will be sorted by the # of gates they completed and then by time to determine the winner of the event.
    • No scale points.
  2. Rubicon
    • Time limit is 10 minutes
    • Setup with ***TBD*** sets of gates.
    • Standard SORCCA scoring with scale points to determine the winner of the event.
  3. Sled Pull
    • Timed event.
    • Setup with a long course with demarcation of a full pull.
    • Trucks will be sorted by the distance they completed and then by time to determine the winner of the event.
    • No scale points.

The Rubicon and Sled Pull will be run at roughly the same time as the Rubicon; once you complete the Rubicon, the truck will go over and complete the pull.

Sun. Events
  1. Obstacle Course
    • Timed event.
    • Setup with on the "r/c" track with obstacles and gates.
    • ***TBD*** timed laps
    • Trucks will be sorted by the distance they completed and then by time to determine the winner of the event.
    • No scale points.
  2. Mud Pit
    • Timed event.
    • Setup with 10 sets of gates with demarcation of a full run.
    • Trucks will be sorted by the distance they completed and then by time to determine the winner of the event.
    • No scale points.

TTC Scoring
  • The TTC will be made up of the following events:
    • Hill Climb
    • Rubicon
    • Sled Pull
    • Obstacle Course
    • Mud Run
  • Each event will have an individual winner determined by the scoring system for the event.
  • For each event, every truck that completes the the event (i.e. makes the full climb, full pull, full run, etc.) is eligible to earn a point towards the overall TTC.
  • Trucks completing an event earn TTC points as follows: first place earns one point, second place earns two points, third place earns three points and so forth.
  • If no truck completes the event, then no points are awarded.
  • The truck with the lowest point total in each class will be declared the TTC winner.

Eligible Truck Classes

Class 2 and 3 trucks only that meet the 2013 SORRCA rules.

Feel free to bring fast trucks, Class 1s, etc. to have fun at the cliffs. Even jet boats for the stream if you have them!

You should Do the Tank Trap as the last event. Also have it be a double point event.

I will be coming up from Indianapolis for the weekend. I am pretty excited about it, especially after seeing some pics from last year. I am trying to find someone around here to ride with but not having any luck. I see on some of the events it says no scale points. Is there any event that scale points will be used? I just want to make aure I am prepared. Other question is can I run a class 2 and a class 3 truck or just one. I will bring them both regardless but I need to know which one to get fully prepped. Thanks.

welcome, it's always good to have new people!
We have a few guys coming in from northern Indiana I think.

You can run both Class 2 & Class 3.
Scale points will count in the Rubicon

scale points only on rubicon. no point minimums in other events...

you can run both classes and win both classes.

I dont have the skills or the rigs to win anything but I like to compete and have fun. Rules around here are you can run 2 classes but only get points in one class. I'm looking forward to the trip. Our turnouts down here have been horrible. I have already made up my mind that next year I am going to focus more on travelling to compete with a larger group rather than stay local and compete with a small group. I just hope to keep my rigs together since I will be so far from home. I plan to upgrade lots of stuff to prevent such a disaster.

Whats a good tire for this event? My Interco Super Swampers technically aren't legal by SORRCA rules since the max tire size is 4.75. The only others tires I have at the moment are Flat Irons which suck on the trails.

The Super Swampers are legal for Class 3.

Any 1.9 tire will work for Class 2.

And, we allow Cut N Shut tires in both Class 2 and Class 3.

We have had to raise the price to enter the TTC because the Cliffs Offroad park has raised their prices.

Because we will need to shuttle people up to the rock pile, we will need to pay for 5 1:1 trucks or so to get into the park, that's $24 per truck/driver plus the $5 per passenger.

We won't know exact cost till we find out how many people are showing up but I'm guessing $15 for the first day and $5 for the second day.

Sorry, I'm trying to keep cost down as low as possible but it just wasn't fair to put 5x the cost on the people willing to help shuttle.

if we aint got any scale points but the rubicon, my dingo is a far more capable rig overall.

My swampers are 1.9s but they are .04" too big according to SORRCA. Its cool if I cant use them in class 2 but I need a good tire suggestion so I can get some tires ordered to be here in time.

You can run them in C2, no problem.
In fact, I think C2 is 4.75 max off the top of my head.
