Is there a specific reason you are using the under/over drive gear set ups? With a high speed rig you really aren't going to need this. I no it's only one tooth difference and there won't be any drastic enhancement.

I went ahead and installed the ud/od to see how it works. Depending on how Eddie wants to use this rig, he can swap out the rear pinion gear.

This is being built for my son to use for the ETXRCC local club G6's. It will have sensored brushless in it but geared as more of a crawler. That's why I wanted the over / under gears. You'll also find that in high speed applications having the front axle over driven will pull the car around with more control and steering.

I race 1/8 buggy/truggy. This will be considerably slower so it will be effective at the achieved speeds.

It's an RC4WD axle that Landon4 machined down for me. Then I had it blasted and annodized to give it a flat look to match the plastic. If the axle is too heavy you can put the tubes on a plastic center section.

Looking good!

Oh now you tell me about the interchangeable metal and plastic axle parts. I didn't think about doing that. I eventually got it all figured out the best I could though. all sorts of cool axles parts.

Check out the Torsion chassis too. Another thread. Any info on it?

This rig arrived back home in Texas this week. Shane did an amazing job and I'm eager to finish it up.

Looks like a blast! Are you going to cut the rear section of the chassis?

Should just need a little trimming on the rear passenger side panel for the servo to clear at full bump.
The shocks on the rear are 4" and are for mock up only. Will need a longer shock out back.

Progress :-D

- New upper links installed
- Rear upper shock mount has been flipped back to stock position
- 4" Traxxas shocks had been assembled only for mock up previously, I took them apart and gave them the full treatment. Shock cap mod, 3 hole pistons front and rear, Jeepindoug crawler cups, Losi gold comp crawler springs, 20w oil in front, 25w oil in rear shocks,

On to the pics:

More to come tomorrow...

I clearly hadn't thought this all the way through. This is suppose to have 2.2's on it in order to compete in our ETXRCC G6's. The steering knuckles are bigger than 2.2. The 8mm CVD's are gigantic. I drilled out the 12mm aluminum hex to 8mm to start with. I customized a drill bit for the new drive pin.

Drilled out 12mm hex and custom drive pin installed:

Drilled out RC3WD hub:

I always wondered what these wheels would be used for:

2.2

3.0

Slowly making progress :-)

More progress;

8mm axle pinions make drive shafts interesting. I had to change the rear transmission output to a 5mm long rear to make the Losi CVD from the LST work for the rear drive shaft. The front output is a CI long front output. Motor plate is a FOFF version from BWD.

Robinson Racing Products finally came out with a Steel output gear for axial & it will be tested in this rig:

Mugen dose but I read they don't work in the T/MF housing. I need to tear into my MBX6 and find out.
