^ ^ thanks for the input ...definately not outside of my capabilities tho' I suppose I'll need purchase a solid work bench to hold any template/jig in position. Guess I'll end up ponying up, one way or the other. Just not sure where I can put a work bench. The garage is full.. so that's out. I have two young adults living with me and they take up a whole lot of space with their clutter. Especially my son with his comic-con construct hobbies. The Son has been wanting an workbench for quite sometime... guess I'll haft'a make that happen this year. Maybe I can weasel out some space by losing the generally un-used patio furniture. and put that work bench out on the back patio. |

just ordered this for the TJ... $ 155. (ish) stmd fm: Pro-RC Canada ( last one in stock ) Even tho' I exist on a poor boy's budget... I couldn't ignore the specs... • Speed @ 6.0V: 0.16sec/60 • Torque @ 6.0V: 555.5oz-in • Speed @ 7.4V: 0.13sec/60 • Torque @ 7.4V: 694.4oz-in • Dimensions: 1.58 x 0.79 x 1.52 Inches (40.3 x 20.2 x 38.7mm) • Gears: Steel • Bearing: 3BB • 25 Tooth Spline and need more torque to effectively turn my 5.85" tires. Plus the alloy case should dissipate heat way better then my 2130's do Last edited by TacoCrawler; 12-02-2016 at 08:22 AM. |

nope... it's called Visa buy now... pay later I also purchased one of those Harbor Freight hardwood work benches. which cost as much as that servo. Difference was... I paid cash for the work bench. So... that's 3 bills I've tossed into the black hole this month. And yet... I still have another 3 bills I'll need throw into the pit of despair before the New Year comes... and before California's aniti-constitutional ammo laws/registration takes effect labeling me a criminal and forcing me to register and pay extortion fees in order to obtain some measely .22 ammo. And so... screw California and all the idiot liberal peeps that vote here Nevada ain't no better as yer all a bunch of Hillary loving/anti-constitutional supporters bussing in immigrant liberals to steal your vote California has become hostile to my legal citizenship and my constitutional rights have been denounced by the liberals whom enslave me Merry F'n Christmas to me !? | Re: 1/6 Wraith/Nylint TJ Jeep + scale quad Already tried buying a gun there once... But Arizona's propriators would not sell a gun to a non-resident. tho' I was able to buy ammo there some years back. But with the new laws imposed on California residents... that will likely be not allowed any longer. Besides even if it were possible... I would become a criminal by California law if I tried to bring ammo back into CA. from elsewhere. Well after the 1st of the year anyways... when this state's new law goes into effect. My Mom used to be a long time resident of Arizona. And she would have made a purchase for me. Tho' not sure I would've put that burden on her. But she recently passed away... So I no longer have friends or family living there. Before she passed... I was going to live there and become a resident. But since she's passed... I no longer have a base to run to. My only real solution is... I need to get the hell outta this defunct liberal state. Screw these California anti-constitutional communists. This state has become a lost cause... and even the NRA has given up on it. I'm neither a Republican nor a Democommie... But I am a Constitutional USA Patriot/Citizen. And my voice is no longer even considered here But good news for me... I did in fact pick up some more ammo today... gotta purchase all that I can afford now... before I no longer can. I refuse to register my current guns here and definitely won't register here to purchase ammo. Why no one is standing up for my Constitutional rights here... is beyond me... I feel so abandoned by my fellow patriots So bottom line... I gotta get the hell outta here asap. Too bad... I really liked living here during my 36 year residency. But this state... is no longer what it used to be |

I want to increase the over-all length of my original Wraith shocks. And have been thinking of going with the Traxxas alloy XXL 4962 big bores. But I seem to find/read conflicting information as to their actual length. One claim is that they are 4" ( 101.6mm ) Whereas another claim states they are 4 1/8" ( 104.8mm ) Does anyone know for fact which measurement is correct ? I suppose I could be less lazy... and pull off my factory Wraith shocks in order to measure those. But was hoping an answer here might be less effort on my part. So what is the actual length of the original Wraith shocks ? 95 mm ? or 100mm ? My goal here is to increase the droop length (extension) But I also want the shock body a little longer too so that I need not stack O-rings on the shock shaft to limit compression. So beside just the extended length of the Traxxas 4962's I would also like to know the length of the shock bodies ? Anyone have the Traxxas alloy 4962's in their possession and know for fact what the actual length specs are ? A link would be fine... if it is a reputable/trustworthy source. But I'm getting annoyed with finding mis-information on the intarnet thanks ahead for your knowledge and assistance. |

I shortened the stock Wraith Shocks from 103 mm or 105 mm I shortened them for my SCX10 to 100 mm by using shorter rod ends so why couldn't you use longer rod sends to lengthen them the Axial web site says the stock Wraith shock body is 72 mm to 103 mm and with other rods ends besides the stock ones so again 103 mm to 105 mm or longer with right rod ends Last edited by kgb424; 12-03-2016 at 07:27 PM. |

^ I already have longer rod ends on them. tho' the shock's stroke length still remains the same. And tho' the shocks are slightly longer... they still needs be more. My issue is that I need raise the suspension a little more to better clear the body's underside wheel wells. But I don't want to raise the body on the chassis any higher. I wish to reduce the compression of the shock(s)... without limiting their compression by placing O-rings on the shock shaft(s). But I'll put O-rings on those if I must. A longer shock body and stroke length is what I'm after. As I wish to net more suspension droop. I'm not really attempting to make the suspension taller. I have room to allow for more droop... because the driveshaft angles are not even close to being too steep at this point. But instead of just changing the upper shock mount position to lower I want longer shocks. So I need a shock somewhere in the range of 104mm to maybe 110mm. Tho' I might think a 110mm shock could be slightly too long. I run 100mm Traxxas BB shocks on my SCX-10 and that's about max for that rig. So I would believe this Wraith could droop more so then what it currently does. Do you have the Traxxas 4962 shocks ? Or are you just filling up this thread with more of your shenanigans ? Lol I don't really need help in figuring out what I need or want to do... I need information regarding the 4962 shock's true specifications. Got those ? Or do you just wanna pull my chain some more ? Lol I'd say thanks... But I don't think you've helped me in my quest |

yes I had Traxxas Big Bore's on my Nitro T-Maxx and Nitro Stampede And they leaked all the time, even after I bought, new rebuild kits for them I don't think anybody and myself included knew, you could use Green Slime To help seal the o-rings and you need a special set of Snap ring pliers to rebuild them There a pain in the ass to be honest with you And got tired of them leaking and ran them dry and just lubricated the shafts My Wraith shocks have never leaked and are easier to rebuild I see where people cut the loop of the top of the cap and add, a long rod end to the cap Merry Christmas to you too Grinchy Bastard Last edited by kgb424; 12-03-2016 at 09:14 PM. |

ordered a set of the Traxxas 4962's... Likely install four on my SCX-10 and the other four on my Wraith. tho' I may need figure out if I can utilize a longer shock shaft in them for installing on the Wraith. Or at the very least I'll hafta' lower the upper shock mount position(s). Bet mine won't leak like KGB424 claims his did -------- My son is also using his 3D printer to make me some shock/deck covers to seal off the bed's surface and hide the top of the shocks protruding. The dog is gonna hafta' straddle those... but screw 'im anyways Last edited by TacoCrawler; 12-05-2016 at 11:33 AM. |

I don't eat tacos so I could care a less what mush is put in them. You sir, would seemingly have a taco loving fetish Purdy damn sure I won't be making those for you. But if I did... think I'd put rat meat in yers But don't worry... If you can't build the 4962's so they don't leak... it's likely that meat slush will squish out when you bite into 'dem rat tacos Last edited by TacoCrawler; 12-05-2016 at 03:43 PM. |

^ only women folk pretend to know what love is !? Lol -------------------- Thought I'd show those shock protrusion caps/covers that my son printed up for me. Mind ya they're a tad tall and kinda rough... as they still need to be prepped and painted. and likely need be shortened somewhat too. But I'm waiting on doing that until I know if /or how much I'll be lowering the upper shock mount position(s). Was a quick print... and the son is still learning how to use his printer. But after they're painted black and secured. Likely won't even be noticed or seen. Last edited by TacoCrawler; 07-20-2023 at 06:30 PM. |

7 days has gone by... still waiting for a clue as I've no idea as to where that servo is at !? Chicago annex from hell, likely. Hopefully at least, it made to USA soil and is in a truck rolling 'cross country. But could be sitting in customs doing nothing ? Says it's supposed to be delivered by 12-13-16 But that's about all I have on that matter. Maybe Santa is delivering it !? Lol Hopefully Santa delivers it by Christmas. welp... I gotta reconfigure the trailer's axle so that it has floating hubs and SLW mounted wheels. The current axle configuration offers no differentiation... and is causing the nuts to back off when turning. -------------- So... I purchased these LURC floating SLW hubs... They utilze 11mm OD bearings... tho' I have yet to ascertain what the bearing's ID needs be. But purdy sure there's bearing standards that limit my ID choices. I'll suppose I'll need obtain some metric stubs /or thread-all in order to make these work. I have no clue as to how they'll apply to this trailer's current axle configuration. But hopefully I'll be able to figure something out !? ~ at least I had better, 'cuz these weren't inexpensive to purchase ~ It doesn't say... but will assume I'll need pony up for some 4-40 screws to mount the wheels onto these hubs. Hopefully luck is on my side. Last edited by TacoCrawler; 12-08-2016 at 03:34 PM. |

| Re: 1/6 Wraith/Nylint TJ Jeep + scale quad 'nother Christmas present for me... 2.2 X 35mm alloy wheels for the TJ ~n~ trailer. 8 of them... 'cuz four isn't enough. Not bad for $ 120. stmd ( 'cept maybe the wait ) I'll probably end up having to purchase longer hubs for my wanted offset. But maybe I'll get lucky !?
