^ thanks Mike, And may this New Year be good to you as well Thank you for the gift and following along with my build much appreciated. -------- Decided to install the Axial idf wheels on the new hubs and shim the axle's hubs to see how good the wheels/tires will roll. Works very well, I must say Gonna dial it in a little more whence those new wheels get here. Odd to me... but the spring hangers are not located equally and one side sits inboard a little more then the other. Being anal... I might have to reposition those spring mounts so they are equal in their placement. it's mostly just a visual magnet for me and I'd doubt anyone else would notice. Guess when it stops raining and the sun comes out... it's time to paint this trailer orange Last edited by TacoCrawler; 07-20-2023 at 06:42 PM. |

So I decided to do away with the pintle/lunette combo because using an eyebolt/pintle type clasp is less then precise. So I installed my universal coupler with a longer lunette shaft so that my trailer will be able to back up and right angle to 90* plus as well clear the side(s) of the TJ's body when doing that. My coupler design works much like my Max Coupler does on my 1:1 M100. The TJ's wheel base... and trailer wheelbase (Trailer's axle to TJ's Rr axle) is about the same measured distance. Still need to fabricate/weld up the hitch mount and make that bolt onto the TJ's Rr bumper. I'll likely leave the hitch in place when not towing 'cuz it will act as a skid plate for the bottom tread of the spare. Should be a roller once that's done. The downward tab extension off the drawbar is for holding a landing leg. Of which the original is broken and missing. All I have is the barrel portion of the LL. Not sure if I'll try to fabricate one up... or if I'll just cut that plastic portion off and call it a day. I'll have to think about that for a bit... And is why I haven't already cut that off. That plate on the back of the trailer serves a purpose. Judging by the amount of plastic that was broken off of the lower body of the Jeep body, before I made the steel bumper for it, I thought it was wise to also protect the Trailer body. So that piece of steel attached to the back of the trailer is to protect the old 1960's plastic. It hangs down a smidge to hit the rock first. Last edited by Mike Flea; 01-02-2017 at 12:22 PM. |

Think I'll take it a step further... Weld up some plate to it and make it extend out back (over the lip) Protecting that plastic lip like a skid plate would of sorts. Ideally I should weld up an individual frame for that trailer... But I'm feeling kind lazy about that It's mostly just a tow behind for the TJ... and that show.. so how perfect does it really need be anyways. Getting the axle sorted out was worthy of my time and coin spent... But I'm not so sure I need go any further with this trailer build. Should suffice purdy much as is. Just gonna add the alloy wheels to match the alloys going on my TJ and paint the trailer orange and call it good enough If they ever get here I found a place that sells more of those detailed fuel cans like the two I have already. Not really cheap... but think I'll buy 8 more so's I can place them inside the trailer's bed and fill that up a little more. Then find or 3D print some other scale items to fill in some more. I really like where this trailer is going... and appreciate the opportunity of you giving me that headstart

My pleasure, and I like the direction you're taking it in. Just get it painted. Home Depot has the Plastidip Orange, may even help protect that plastic. |

So I added some M1 light housings and full red gamma goat lenses. Maybe they'll get some LEDs installed one of these days. Also gonna use some reflective tape to make new reflector lenses. Also didn't like those Rr double stacked reflectors... As they are not period correct, that I'm aware of. So next round I'll show pictures of the uppers removed and the single large reflector placed inline with the side reflectors height as they should be. ^ already done, but I have more prep to do before I PD the tub. Same color I coated the TJ with. Wonder if I should prime the trailer with a lighter color prior to applying the Orange PD ? Was worried the orange tint might be effected by utilizing a darker base.

Maybe I'll do gray... as I'm concerned that the white base may find the orange PD too brite. Maybe I'll test it as is... could always peel the pd back off... if it's wrong. Or at least so it's written. Also read that WD40 will remove those "too thin" PD coats as well. tho' I'm not sure what affect it might have on the ABS plastic ?

Finally broke down and pony'd up for Joe's ride partner. and she's not yer common cheap arse Barbie Purchased this head sculpt for my Phicen S07 purchase... I wanted fully sculpted hair... but the pony tail out back is made of a either fiber or hair strands. Seller's listing title included Phicen along with Kumik, Hot Toyz and others... But guess I don't know for sure if the sculpt is compatible with Phicen ? Guess I'll know for sure when I have them in hand and attempt that fitting. Hopefully I won't need purchase adapters she'll be wearing this when rolling with Joe in the TJ... USA purchase for this outfit and shoes... so I'll likely have them before I receive that S07 Phicen coming from china meh... purchased a low dollar dress and some high heels as well (P-052B). For a more feminine look when they go out on the town. These were only $ 20. combined... as they're puchased outta china. sooo... eventully I might get them !? 'course none of the attire really matters... if the S07 never arrives. Last edited by TacoCrawler; 01-05-2017 at 07:14 PM. |

these MFC's were delivered today... well eight of them anyways, as I already had two. If I purchased 15 more... I could fill the trailers tub uniformally / completely. Not sure why I'd do that... 'cuz IMO I already have six more then I need. Last edited by TacoCrawler; 07-20-2023 at 06:45 PM. |

They're inanimate dolls. "Action Figures" for you (tho' U must supply that action) Drugs have no affect on them... unless I do a Richard Pryor to them You've been smoking way too much and watching that "Toy Story" movie way too often ------------- Fab'd up and mounted my trailers hitch to the TJ's Rr bumper today. Trailer rolls really well behind my TJ and goes most everywhere the TJ can. Would seem I got it all sorted out I'll likely make a video clip of the combo in action... But it will be crawler slow... so you'll be bored |

...some pictures to better demonstrate how it looks ...the hitch/mount will act as a skid plate to the bottom of the spare, without the trailer hitched. (or two bolts and its removed) ...the trailer can tilt quite a bit without flopping ^ the slight sway of the lunette shaft at the drawbar will be eliminated when I fill in around the mount at the front of drawbar with some Apoxie Sculpt. I'll likely cut off the landing leg tab... and do without a LL. Because it hangs too low and catches in the rocks more then I'll like. I tested the combo out in my back yard test track/rock pile... drove thru that obstacle with flying colors. 'cept the occasional hang up of that pesky LL tab hanging down Last edited by TacoCrawler; 07-20-2023 at 06:49 PM. |

Apoxie Sculpted the front of the drawbar underside (channel) to reinforce the lunette shaft securing thru the trailer's drawbar. Now I can cut off some of that LL tab/paint the drawbar black. Last edited by TacoCrawler; 07-20-2023 at 06:50 PM. |

Works real nice with the longer lunette on there, better articulation going over the boulders, and because it's a smaller and longer, has more room to swing without hanging up on the Jeep's spare tire, which was the problem I had. The trailer tongue would catch on the spare when going over obstacles to the right, due to not enough clearance. |
