| Awesome work!
Just got done reading the build. Very nice work. I am sorry I missed your rig at MCR. I would love to have checked it out in person. My buddy was planning on doing the RC comp but we got held up before the springs and missed the comp. Really like what you created, must be great to have all that hard work finally pay off Definitely an inspiration thread. |

| What tranny gas would be cool. I'd like 4wd though. Maybe use the drivetrain from 1/8 Losi. maybe someday when i have $$. I have all the parts/material so I can try it out with out spending $. as it is I have a big list of things to sell in order to cover my berg build, need a job, this economy is seriously bad . 240,000 jobs lost in Oct. 1.2 million unemployeed since 2008. Many more to come. I had never had to look for a job in my life . I'm a Network admin with 10 yrs expeirence and no luck yet. there are lots of I.T people out of work here in Silicon valley. | Thank you. It will get some upgrades and fixes soon, lipo, lights, egt steering wheel mounted and a more durable cab cover. sorry my time has been going into my new creation Rally AWD 1/5 scale but I'll do some upgrades soon and get the video up with the sound system thanks for asking Quote:
It came out really well for my first big custom build. I really want to have a tranny that would be 2 speed so it can crawl but also rock race and get speeds in 20's all I can do now is a brushless with high gearing for the speed fun and the brushed low gearing for the crawl. getting inside there to change motor is no simple task though, especially changing the spur :?

I know this is old guys but I wanted to make sure I let you all know I really appreciate the Great compliments Quote:
Thank you very much , it's really nice to hear such great compliments and it's even better to hear it's been an inspiration . Need your Help: Any ideas what motor to switch to ? this integy 55t just gets fried and thats with the Nimh 8 cell. I'm going to 3s Lipo 2250 30C. I dont have any more room bigger than a regular brushed motor Last edited by toy4crawlin; 06-14-2009 at 01:36 PM.

I have been running the Tekin 55T motors for a while now, both machine wound and hand wound, and they have taken 3S with no problems (pair of 3S Zippy Flightmax 800mAh packs, and sometimes 3S Zippy Flightmax 500mAh packs in parallel). The hand wound motor is smoother and more efficient, but the machine wound motor is also very smooth and efficient. I would give the Tekin 55T machine wound motor a try first, and see how you like it, and if you do (you will), step up to the hand wound version (they make the Integy motors seem like useless paper weights). Tekin products are the best in the industry, and their customer service is second to none, literally! The owner and other tech support & customer service people post on here a lot, and they are just one of us, very nice and super friendly, and great to talk to...they are more than happy to help you out with anything and everything, and will go out of their way to help you and make you happy. I also run the Tekin FX-R ESC, and it is a work of art...unbelievably small, unbelievably efficient, and unbelievably packed with more features than any other ESC on the market...it is clearly, without a doubt, the best brushed ESC made...PERIOD! Anyway, I have my crawler torn completely down for a total redesign of the chassis, suspension, and drivetrain, but the Tekin FX-R and Tekin 55T motor will still be used! |

Cool Chad I will look into that. I definetly like Tekin and the FXR is awesome, I bought it for my berg build but heard iit was not meant for Duals so I returned it :-( Do you think my integy was burning up because of the heavy crawler weight or just that it is poorly made in such a way it cant handle the Drag brake and the commutator is poor ? I have the biggest Spur there is. Does this look right ? I dont know what ratio's other single motor Super's are running My gear reduction is Axial ( 2.6:1 ) with 90/14 (6.43:1) axles 43/13 Total reduction 143.74:1 RPM 10955.7 max speed 1.66 mph Last edited by toy4crawlin; 06-14-2009 at 02:03 PM. |

A lot of people have had some luck with the Integy motors, but they have been the 35 and 45 turn versions, and I have heard that the 55 and 65 turn versions were kind of like the "junK" of the line, and were burning up pretty easily. So, I would venture to guess that your 55t burned up because it just isn't that good of a motor, and the weight may have just sped up the process. Now, as far as the FX-R and dual motors goes, I have seen and heard of quite a few people running dual motors on it, and it holding up just fine. The thing is, you just can't run a pair of modified motors or anything, but it will handle a pair of 35 or higher turn motors just fine...I have even heard of someone running a pair of Trinity Monster Stock 27 turn motors with no trouble. |

Working on final touches last night, and shot some video of the Engine sound ! had problem with video files so I will post the Music sound and the DIG movement soon VIDEO of ENGINE SOUND and Stereo The volume was about 65%. The music will be loud so stay tuned ! ;) 1- Re locate the Volume UP/Down buttons to the cockpit panel. Done 2-Mount steering wheel so the driver can be dropped in and pulled out, Steering wheel still rotates. Done 3- Reinforce the DIG locking 4- re inforce the Axles so I can jump it ! 5- Make proper Front shock tabs 6- make new roof/top panel 7- Make new Lipo tray holder under the hood 8- Make grill or something for front lights Last edited by toy4crawlin; 06-22-2009 at 11:17 AM. |

That sounds like a Jeep 4.0 with either a 40 or 50-series Flowmaster!
