And how much for a set of those beef tubes?

The aluminum is 0.064" sheet. I buy it at Ace Hardware in 4"x10" sheet for like $3.

As for the servo mount and beef tubes, give it a shot at home man. I don't have a vendor's star, and the money I would make wouldn't cover the cost. Been looking into it lately, can't afford it.

It's probably in the thread somewhere but what did you use for the beef tubes. And I for sure am going to try the servo/battery mount. Just need to get lipos and the servo I'm getting for mock up

K&S 1/4"x0.035" aluminun tube.
Picked up these 9/16" shaft collars this morning for a little rear weight. Guessing they're around 3/4 oz each at this point, need a scale though. Also picked up some M2x20 screws to outboard my shocks. The cut down servo screws just weren't cutting it. These use a flathead driver, but will work just fine.

Thanks for the info. Nice build. I might do the beef tubes myself. I've got a slow start but am building a maxstone16 which seems to be a clone.

The Maxstone is a "loose copy" of the MRC. I built one for my daughter a few years back. Still going strong. Good little rigs. Most MRC axle parts will fit with a little modding, but the trans parts ARE NOT interchangeable.

That's the "neighborhood effort course." AKA, the B&B compound. Meaning, Brian and Brian, the other Brian being my neighbor. We've got two years into the course, which is pretty much mini specific. All based around shared effort, it stays maintained and constantly evolving year round. Snow or not, there's always fresh tracks amd something new.

Got the itch to fab up that ESC tray I was talking about. No tutorial or anything. Just a few pics during construction. It ended up a little different than planned, but ended up looling like it's floating in the chassis like I had wanted. Took a little work to get it to work out right, but I'm happy. Really really getting anxious now!

The Novak is just there for mockup. It won't be staying. Wanted to make sure I had good clearance around a fat can motor. Clearance with the Xtreme 380 will be even better.

Thanks for the info about the trans. I'm doing a slow build thread in the general crawler section.

just an idea...but use a heavier material for the beef tubes in the axles for more weight....

There's a reason for the wall thickness, and it's more than enough beef. Not my first go-round with them. Read back a few pages...
