Here is the link to the comp specific thread. 1.9, 2.2 and 2.2L classes will run for trophies. The 2.2 limited class (no dig allowed) was added to give crawlers without dig get a level playing field and the chance to take home a win http://www.hobbytalk.com/bbs1/showthread.php?t=248688 Last edited by nathanschmoekel; 04-10-2009 at 12:21 PM. |

| I know....bla bla bla We are simply filling a need (within our club) for a class that joe blow can get started and have fun in. This is our rock crawling version slash racing. The class provides a fun, competitive, fair class to move up from ,without the need to buy a whole new class of vehicle. The 1.9 class is also taking off here, but the need to buy a 2.2 rig in order to 'advance' has been a complaint we've been hearing quite frequently from indivudals off the street who want to break into crawling. A 2.2 limited class simply allows our club to be more fun/ fair to beginners. It's no fun to get your a** kicked on comp day just because you didn't spend enough money! Yes, driving skill is a big part of crawling, but equipment also plays a big roll. A nice side effect is that this class also gives guys with more scale looking trucks a class to run in without actually having a 'scale' class and all the arguements over rules that go with it. RANT.... If I recall my history...the original intent of the 2.2 class was to offer a smaller, more afordable option than a super class crawler. Now the 1.9 class is trying to repeat that , but I think 1.9 misses the target a little bit. It's not that much cheeper (if any) to buy into, it's just a less capable rig that requires less severe terrain to run on. We need to face the fact that we will suffer the same fate as the racing side of RC if we keep forcing entirely new classes of vehicles on people every year! That mentality will be the (eventual) death of rockcrawling...you will end up with so many different rigs that we will not have enough of any one type to actually run a class on a given day. |

Wish I could make this event, I'll be at the MiRCa comp (for Nats). keep posting up dates though, I want to get out there to run. *Edit* - Does MISFITCOMPER run out there? I hear he plans to give Farmer and I some crawling lessons. |

I can't make this weekend...I'm working the big spring sale at the bike shop. Are any of the westside fellas going to show at BFG on the 26th? I seem to recall people wanting to drive across the state to test their metal last summer... Now we have some of those guys comming this way. It would be a real 'F'n shame if none of you show! It's time to stand up and be counted, lets show these guys that the westside has somemething to offer. I know 'we' are used to crawling for free, but would paying once really kill you, It's not like you can't afford the gas to get there!! |

| Outside fun run, Sat 4/25 ? Quote:
It was down to two of us and drizzling, so we called it off anyway. Weather is supposed to be great this weekend (4/25). Is anyone up for a funrun in Holland or GrandHaven area? The comp is Sunday at BFG, so we could get outside on Saturday. Robert wants to meet up with some of you guys with Axial rigs to get more insight. Alex, I tried emailing and calling Sat and Sun. Where are you? Who's up for it? | |

gota keep the lights on somehow. There is a discount structure for frequent fliers. I don't own the place so don't cry to me about it For the rumble, the sunday morning practice will be included in the entry fee. I don't know for sure how saturday evening will be handled. T-devil is the man to ask, keeping the bills payed is his bag. |
