Spent a little time working on the bed. Cut the wheel openings and mounted up the fender flares. Sealed up the RX and BEC boxes and finished up some wiring. I'm going to pick up some paint today so I can tear it down and paint all the body and chassis parts. I hope to finish the build while watching the Daytona race on Sunday!!

reminds me of this: i remember watching this thing climb potato salad hill in reverse and diagonal with all 6 wheels turned to the left. that was probably 12 years ago. that was a sweet jeep. |

Your rig will look great when you are finished. It's going to be a blast on the trail.

What drive shaft did you use for the passthrough to the last axle (short one) and how did you make the drive shaft to the front?

| The short rear is made with the old Axial metal yolks and Traxxas shafts. The front is from Traxxas yolks and Traxxas shafts I had laying around.

It's a running rig. Not complete but starting to shake it down on the trail. Under the body. Inside the electronic boxes. The rear steering. Underside. I was able to conceal almost all the wires. You can see a few if you look real close between the bed and cab. I will add some wire loom later. After some driving I noticed the BRXL gets hot running 3s with the 21t HH rock racer motor. The motor was warm but not hot. I need to ditch the overdrive front gears, because it squats the front end under driving load it causes the rear steering to get squirly(4 linked axles and no panhard.) The steering radius is ridiculous with the rear steer. Lots of fun to drive with crab and counter steer. The Heyok rear steer controller works great and only took a few turns to get all my EPAs in line. I could use stronger servos all around but I just can't afford the cost of the 7955s or similar. These are fine as long as you pay attention and aren't bound up too bad. I hope I can get some material to finish the inside of the bed this week. Have the cage started but not motivated enough to really start bending and brazing. Can't wait to get this thing dialed in!!!! |

Made some changes to the rear upper links. It took care of most of my bump steer on the rear axle and made huge improvements in handling at speed. The rear steering works amazing now too!!!!

Seems like the rear end sits a little high? Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 2 |

The rear height was way off once I hooked up my rear steering linkage. Also because my original design sucked I didn't get much steering out of my 3rd axle. So with a little time and lots of trial and error I think I have it figured out. The rig sits much closer to level and I get full steering throws. Made a drop down crossmember to mount my upper links to. Relocated the front mounts of the lower links up to the chassis. Made some limiting straps for the rear two axles. |
