| steering servo question
Hello I just got my first crawler going. It is working really well only i am having one problem. I am not getting the servo to move far enough to actually hit the stopping point on my bully 2.2 axels. I see many threads of people modifying these axels to get even more steering angle out of these axels so I would have to assume that if I am not even getting to where the axels is out of articulation then I am not getting enough movement from my servo. I have checked all clearance with he links its there for sure. 1. I guess my question is really is do I need to rout more power to the servo or something? I have my truck set up with a Hitec HS5645MG running off a CC BEC and just installed it with all the electronics without doing any programing to the BEC. Do i need to program the BEC to give the steering servo more power? 2. How much should my servo move? |

Some hitec servos are programable & you can adjust the throw up to 180 deg with the hitec servo programer. I think yours is.. Another thing you can do is get a longer servo horn. You will lose some torque but gain some throw. I dont know 1st hand, but ive heard bullys get ALOT of steering angle so you may have to do both to get to your end points. make sure your servo horn is centered also so you get equal left and right.
