Working out the rear springs, used spring retainers to keep the springs in place. Spacers to adjust for the suspension arms. I put on some longer front shocks too. 4WD slash rears. Got lights and light bar when I was in San Pedro last month. For the new body. Not thrilled with the number plates but they'll work for now. ~1.5mm holes+2mm button heads+plastic, paint and sponsor stickers = Last edited by Szczerba; 10-05-2011 at 08:58 PM.

| That's what sh.....nevermind. I am getting a decent amount of axle steer, so I am going to work out a rear swaybar setup. When the rear squats on turns the wheel base shortens on one side and causes the axle steer, or fish tailing. Non-working pre-production prototype rear sway bar setup. Using coat hanger stock for now. Just seeing some fitment options. I will weld mounts to the underside of the rear cage. Yes, I know there are things wrong with the sway bar geometries right now, this is just putting my thoughts in plain view right now. The bends will have to start sooner and the "arms" will have to be a little shorter, etc. I cut up some trenchers. Cut every other lug (removed small ones). They really hook up on grass and dirt. More testing on those later. I am about to have to hunt down a nice "stripping" sound. It's coming from the rear axle, driveshafts or trans. I ordered new aluminum rear axle link mounts from TCScrawlers too. Once the stripping sound is found and the sway bar is installed, I will be taking this to Rootar and letting him put it through the paces on a SC track. Then the tuning will begin. thatll work, you need to lower the sway bar's mounts about .25" or more below the frame rails, and btw the arms of the sway bar do not need to be any shorter unless your gonna put some limiting straps on the rear axle otherwise your gonna run into all kinds of problems with your droop and the ballends binding, the best solution would also include putting an extra bend in the bar and rotating the axle mounts 90 degrees to where you have unrestricted travel.

Got a few hours today to work on the truck. Cut down all the electronics wire ends to clean up the rats nest. Dropped the rear axle upper suspension link mount down. And installed a gang of new parts. New trans locker. The old rear gears got toasted cause they were 36/14, ooppss, should have checked! Front gear ratio was 2.91 and rear was 2.57 that tears up things quick. So, New 38/13 axial HD gears. Oven cleaned the purple off the rear lock outs STRC front steering setup with my homemade brace. STRC Front suspension knuckles and blocks. New Golden Horizons servo horn Savox SC-1267MG servo , @7.4v - 291 oz-in for 0.09sec/60° Castle BEC @ 7volts Hot Racing rear lower link mounts 21t pinion Working with rear sway bar setup again. Having the rear at 2.57 and the front at 2.91 really set me back. I never did open up the axles before running it. Gnarled up the rear axle gears pretty good. So, I just ordered a gang of parts while I was at it. Took it for a quick test run at dusk and it handles alot better with the correct gear ratio out back. Rear sway bar fabbing coming in the near future. Forgot this picture Last edited by Szczerba; 10-23-2011 at 09:05 PM.

Ultra crappy quality video. Almost ashamed to post it up. Just follow the blur. If it's too loud, your too old. ...... Last edited by Szczerba; 10-30-2011 at 04:29 PM.

Yup. Looks plenty fast to me. I would imagine that having to sling around a couple of spare tires might contribute to its squirrelyness. Can't say I'd change anything about it though. |
