| Official TTC entry thread
The TTC entry thread is now open! You must include: 1. All specifications of your rig. 2. Three pictures, one of the side, one of the bottom and one of it in action. 3. A brief statement of why you should be voted in to compete. The top 6 vote getting rigs will be in! Entry cutoff will be 4/1/14 at midnight. I've been told that all TTC competitors will receive an RC4WD prize package (typically valued at $200 or so) that includes a set of tires, scale goodies and a Warn winch. Competitors that use these items will receive a point bonus at the TTC. Details to come! So here are the details on the RC4WD prize package. It will include: Warn 9.5cti winch Warn wireless winch controller ARB diff cover keychain Poison Spider keychain diff cover 2.2 Mickey Thompson Baja Claw TTC tires ARB snatch block If you use the Warn winch in the TTC competition, you will receive 2 points at the start. If you use the M/T TTC tires on your truck, you will receive 4 points at the start. Good luck guys! Last edited by War Pig; 03-23-2014 at 11:04 PM. |

Looks like I'm the first entry. After spending the weekend building the 7 TTC courses with Luis, Sean, Aaron, Jerry and Tyson....there's no way I'm going to miss out on this event. The courses are THAT awesome! My entry: "The Troober" The Specs: Scratch built Isuzu Trooper body Full tube chassis Custom XR width Vanquish Currie axles with front and rear steer. 13.6" wheelbase Over drive front, under rear t-case Built Axial trans 7980 front 7950 rear steering servos Holmes BR-XL waterproof ESC Holmes TTC Puller motor 3 or 4s lipo depending on my mood 7990 servo winch on 12.5 volts Vanquish 2.2 OMF wheels 2.2 Pitbull Rock Beast 2's cut down to 5.2" with Crawler Innovations foams **I believe TTC is the cream of the crop in hard core scale competition. It incorporates all disciplines of scale in a timed event. The fact that it's exclusive to only 10 vehicles makes it that much more special. If I'm voted in, this will be my 8th TTC, and I think my experience gives me a chance to win. Having a truck that does everything well helps, and the Troober is that. Is it the biggest and baddest? No, but it's a unique, solid 50 point hardbody scale rig without all the foo foo that will leave paint on the rocks. I will drive my best and do whatever it takes (within the rules of course) to win. Please give me that chance. Thanks! Tim. Last edited by War Pig; 03-04-2014 at 07:46 PM. |

Okay I'll go second, but only in the entries because I plan to win. After helping build the courses I don't want to miss out, or ruin my rig trying. BOUNCING BETTY SPECS. New Bright 302 boss mustang body Full rail scx 10 with wraith skid Built VP wraith axles loaded with all the goodies money can buy VP trans case with all Robinson Racing gears MIP drive lines Pro 4 HD 3000 kv Waterproof MMP FUTABA 500 oz servos front and rear Hitec 7940 servo winch on 3 cell Full interior with roll cage Mayhem wheels Good ol axial 2.2 r35 Ripsaws I have never had the chance to run the TTC at a national level event and would love the chance run with the big boys. I have built a rig that is bullet proof and up to the task, and if it breaks I have a part supply that will keep me up and running. I know its a car but all the trucks better watch out, because BOUNCING BETTY is planning on the win. Last edited by War Pig; 04-02-2014 at 11:37 PM. Reason: added pic |

Alright guys, due to nobody having finished TTC rigs and the fact that we want EVERYONE to enter that wants a chance to compete, we are extending the entry cutoff to April 1st. So don't be an April Fool --- get your TTC entry in by then! Here is my entry: Full on tuber built for the toughest class 3 competition but I know it would do well in a TTC event. “Hurricane Buggy” Specs: Tube chassis Custom tube axle trusses Built wraith axles RC4WD AX2, 2speed trans MIP driveshafts MMP Pro 4 3300 7980 front servo 7980 rear servo 7955 servo winch S3102 Futaba mini servo for shifting trans Rear sway bar with quick disconnect VP led bar VP wheels with custom MTHead rock rings Pitbull Rock Beasts 2’s with shaved sidewalls Crawler Innovation foams I competed at last year’s national TTC with my Showtime buggy so I know how demanding this event is. Many of you probably remember I attempted to drive the tank trap in reverse (due to me accidently setting the fwd throttle endpoint to zero, I was kicking myself for that!!). I’d be thrilled to have another shot at this years TTC! Last edited by War Pig; 04-02-2014 at 07:06 PM. |

OK fine... The Big Dummy - The Lost UTARD Build Goal: Light, nimble, wicked fast, super stable with incredible side-hilling, comfortable in the air, 12 3/4" wheelbase, ugly as sin, high scale points (shooting for 45+), a blast to drive and look at & and make all others look like crappy coat hanger creations. Specs:
Terribly up-kept build thread that needs to be moved to the 2.2 scale section: http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/1-9-s...big-dummy.html Still working on interior details and such. I will continue to update the pics and spec as this build progresses (as funding allows). It is only going to get better. On to the Pics: Side shot, bottom shot & a shot of The Big Dummy in action (The Big Dummy getting some Class 1 Trail Ranger action...Tim didn't say what kind of action shot.) :flip off: I competed in the 2010 Montana Scale Nationals TTC with my Green König der Hämmer ( * Top Truck Challenge Entry Thread * )... it was one of the funnest RC Crawler events I have ever participated in. I think I tool 4th or 5th? I would LOVe to have the opportunity to do it all again. Thanks... -Matt Last edited by War Pig; 04-02-2014 at 07:10 PM. |

Ok, I guess I will post up my entry for this years TTC "Rusty the Bug" I know it's not my usual jeep. But I promise this little guy will not disappoint. Specs. Custom built tube chassy with a bug body wrapped around it. Power hound tekin pro4 rx8 combo Turning power hi tech 7995 and vanquish dig unit for those tight spots. Overdrive gears up front stock ratio in rear. Vanquish knuckles and C hubs. Not sure what tires leaning towards the rip saws but not scared to use old school hammers. MIP drivelines Hey ok winch and control unit. 4 cell lipo for the go fast skip across water/mud sections. 3 cell for the slower more technical stuff. This rig is ready to rip. I had the honor of competing in the Montana nationals TTC a few years ago and took 2nd place and I'm thinking this is the rig to take the top spot this year. So please cast you're vote for "Rusty Bug" Thanks Lance I will post updated pics as I get more finished, the test run this weekend in Moab was amazing. I will post up more pics later for some reason it won't let me post more than one picture. Last edited by madscrambler; 04-05-2014 at 01:24 PM. Reason: Updated Pictures(New Tires and Wheels) |

I would really like to get voted into TTC at a national event. If I'm not mistaken I don't think there as been more then a hand full of U4 style rigs in TTC 1:1 or RC. I would like to see how it rates against the other bad a$$ rigs. After finishing this rig a week ago I'm willing to beat the crap out of it to put on a good show. Please vote for me. Here's my entry for the 2014 TTC. A real TTC rig that actually looks like a truck you would see on the trail, not a purpose built tube buggy posing as a truck. It is Top Truck Challenge isn't it? This FJ45 is the same truck I have run for the past 3 National TTC events, placing 5th in TTC at the last Scale Championships in Montana, 3rd place at the NWSC TTC as well as 5th place in C3 at NWSC. It's been a proven rig, capable, reliable and able to hold it's own against some of the toughest competition in the country. I am honored that you all have voted for it to compete in TTC 3 years in a row, a fourth would be icing on the cake. I guarantee that I will beat, wring and squeeze every bit of performance out of it to improve my finish in TTC. Again I will show that you don't need Wraith axles, gigantic power, 4WS or dig to be competitive. Thanks for looking! Specs: 13 7/8" wb 7980 steering servo Well worn Bruiser frame Tamiya FJ40 body cut to FJ45 cab Flipped and narrowed Unimog bed Custom 3-link up front and 4 link rear 3racing aluminum axle housings Super300 HD axle shafts Axial OD front gears, stock rear gears Axial trans MIP drive shafts RC4WD shocks up front, Axial SCX10 rears Mayhem Monster wheels Proline TSL tires Mamba Max Pro ESC Tekin 17.5 sensored brushless Castle BEC Custom winch controller for 4s fun Hyperion 4s Lipo Spektrum DX6 Quicksand 8274 winch out front and 3racing winch out back (both on 4s of course) Chino63 lights Last edited by War Pig; 04-02-2014 at 11:41 PM. |

"Big Red" Back in 06 I competed in TTC with a slightly larger version of what I am entering here today. I came in second place by 5 points to a high dollar 4WS rig with 53" tires. You might think its all about finally winning it all after all this time, but really its not. For me what this is all about is just reliving the great times that I had back then and seeing an old Ford tear some sh*t up Specs: Axles--Vanquish alum housing AR60s. Over and under gears. Front end gets SDS super 300 hd shafts and locker. The rear gets a 5mm 1 piece titanium shaft with an aluminum set screw type locker, love this set up! Also up front are the new RC4WD chubs and knuckles, they are similar to the ones in my 1:1. Steering is taken care of by the Hitec 7980 on 7.4volts. Trusses are custom built by me. Tranny--Ax10 with Robinson steel gears and Crawler inovations outputs. Power is fed through MIP drive lines. Power-- Tekin 3300 KV pro4 and Tekin Rx8 esc. Chassis--.035 3/16 seamless steel tube, welded. Have a bunch of Carter Fab tabs in this too, love em! Skid is an axial wraith. Links and Shocks--Links are a mix of 1/4 and 3/16 titanium and the rear lowers are Blue monkey aluminum. Shocks are TLR 22T rears with MIP bypass pistons. Tires and wheels--Tires are cut and shaved TSL swampers wrapped around the sweetness of Vanquish OMF beadlock wheels....even though I am not fan of OMF in the real world. Foams are Crawler Inovations 5.5 double deuce comp cut with med/firm outers Misc--KMS freespool winch powered by holmes b1r mini on 4S. Castle bec for steering servo. Futaba 4pl tx/rx. Gens ACE 1000mah 4S lipos. Build Thread: Big Red TTC, my 1:1 replica...sort of Thank you for your consideration Last edited by War Pig; 04-02-2014 at 11:44 PM. |

I'll play... This is quoted from the last time it was ran in a TTC. Truck is untouched since then. Tough truck and still ready for action. The taco has placed 1st and 3rd. Why this truck ?...Cause it's built and still kicks a$$ at 4years old. In case you forgot...build thread. Vicious Taco (not your standard Honcho) Last edited by War Pig; 04-02-2014 at 11:44 PM. |

| Re: Official TTC entry thread "TW40 - TTC FJ" This rig started as Turtles RC4WD build off entry. It was based on a true TTC FJ from 2011. So only fitting that with a new paint job and some clean up here and there I throw my hand into the pick. Specs: Chassis:Custom solid rod tube chassis by Turtle Axles: Stock/VP housings, upgraded gears, Axial unis, custom truss and link mounts. Both Front and Rear 3link with CMS fed from Savox servos to BTA steering Tranny: RC4WD R3 2speed w/ Tcase, Holmes/Pro4 Motor, TMax Driveshafts ran off 3cell or 4cell depending on the mood Wheels/Tires: Either Locked up Tail Readys & Irocks or RC4WD Monsters and Bajas Extras: RC4WD center mounted winch, KMC K3 servo winch, full interior, all the scale sexy I can throw at her between now and then! I have updated a few things on Turtles original design - All with TTC and Heavy duty use in mind. Everything on this rig has been made quick and easy to change. TTC to me is not just about big tired rigs battling it out - Its about running your rig through its paces on gnarly courses. And I have no issue picking the harder line to put on a show! I have spare for everything on this truck and I think its time to use the skinny pedal... Build Thread - TW40 RC4WD Scale Build Off Last edited by War Pig; 04-02-2014 at 11:46 PM. |
