When I drill this stuff, will it melt like pvc or anything?

use a sharp bit, keep the rpm high imo, and make sure you clear the hole often.

It is soooo much easier than pvc. It should come out smooth, it shouldnt melt, and as long as you have a sharp tool it will cut very fast. From my experience of drilling and milling delrin it will take almost any cutting speed and bit speed. I have had better luck with a faster bit and slower cut rate, but I havent spent more than a few hours playing with delrin/acetal.

So I can drill and cut it at the same speed as I do aluminum and clear it out pretty often and be fine? Sweet!

I told Herbie to be careful using the riods! Looks good Bender, it's good to see some different bodies being used !

I think that looks sweet with the bug body.
The rubicon gets old after awhile, it's nice to see something different every once in a while, (like most of the stuff on this rig).

Always glad to see a shafty guy convert Fred, but that bug body is hideous. Looks like one of the pimples on Dirk ask.

Great build with the delrin, I hope I can make it to a comp someday and see it.

Yeah, I'm still undecided on the body. The paint matches nicely, but the body is waaaaaaaaaaaaay too small. It's the least I've ever trimmed off a body though.

Thanks. We've been wondering where you and Ace have been hiding.

With my 1:1 snowbashing trips on the third Saturday of each month and the rc comps being the third Sunday I have just not been able to make it work out. I plan to be at the one this weekend though.

Cool, I know who to hand the clipboard to now, if the "Scoring Nazi" will have it.
