So here is a question. I remember seeing something similar to this for sale somewhere but it was not nearly as cool as your setup. You planning on producing these servo gearboxes by any chance? |

Interesting. I would love to see what youre talking about if you can find it again. Yeah, I can make some. I am just not too jumpy as I dont know how many would want them. Super class does not usually have a huge demand as you may have guessed. If you ever see something that I make that you want, just PM me or let me know somehow. |

A fun little line I found today. It reminds me of the hot tub in moab. I honestly cant believe I could drive out of it. Luckily I found that little nub at the bottom. Super at Little Moab - YouTube |

You never stop bro. I'm grateful for all your research. I'm waiting for the big bore tech thread to come out on I tunes. My ADD won't permit that much reading. You certainly motivate me and we all need folks like you to keep pushing. Thanks for all you do Erik! Oh, I'm glad you can hit the little nub at the bottom too, congrats

I have been pretty happy with the steering but I just didnt know how well it was actually working until I made the trek out to Wendover this weekend. It has always seemed like I have found awesome lines out there but there is so much traction that I cant make my car do what I want it to do either because the steering or motors have been too weak in the past. I couldnt be any happier right now! I was punishing lines that I have always tried but failed simply because I could not put my steering in the right spots or because my motors lacked torque. Neither of those issues are even close to being a problem anymore. This car drives really, really similar to my 2.2. You can bind the motors and the steering but there is usually a good reason now that I cant use one or the other and you can simply work it out. If you check the vid, you will see mostly lines that I have never been able to make and I am now one shotting them. Its like they dont even exist anymore. I still cant make the one at the end but I love a good challenge. If you watch the last part, it should be obvious at how much better everything is, not even a question. One minor downside is that I found the rear steering setup needs to be dialed in a lot better than the front. When your on a climb and steer all the way, it puts a lot more pressure and force on the gears and it actually flexed the carbon and skipped a couple gear teeth. Setup will be really important but I am also going to beef it up so there should be much less flex. Super Wendover 7-27-13 - YouTube |

Has any of your 2.2 shock tuning made it to the super yet?

No, not yet. I have thought about it but am not sure I would actually do it. I am not sure what it is about the super but I have a hard time telling what the shocks are doing. I just went from 35wt oil to 60wt, cant really tell much difference. I dunno, I will probably do it sooner than later since I like to mess with things. I might let Nats pass by before then though, I am tickled pink with the way the car is working now. |

I got 10 pairs of the servo strengthener made up. I am going to offer the gears as an option since I can buy them in a batch. After the first batch that will not longer be an option. These will begin shipping late next week. Check here for more info: Servo strengthener. Make a 7980 twice as strong! |

I thought that hot tub for a super was out of the question. I would not think there is any way in Hell that a 2.2 could do it. The only reason it became possible for the super is because there is a little shelf at the bottom. Once you get on there, its still a decent climb. If you cant get on that shelf its a pretty nasty under cut, even for a 8" tire.

I dont typically like to do the whole trophy with the car picture but this is less about me and more about the people that made it happen.... I would like to send out a HUGE thanks to Skaldiddog, Del Monte, Team Debead and VooDoo tires for making these trophies for the National series. If I missed somebody, please let me know. These guys made these trophies out of the kindness of their hearts in the spirit of continuing on with a series champion. IMO, a series champion should hold more weight than a single National event but that may be a different discussion for a different time. All of the people listed above are a great example of what crawling should be about,... giving back to the community. Thanks a lot guys! I will put it on my shelf with a lot of pride! |
