Here is the link on Tower for the suspension stays: http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXGKG9&P=PU

They are only listed with the parts for the Rock Buster. Took awhile to find it again but I knew it was there.

Here is the link for the Rock Buster parts also on Tower: http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...=TAMC0201&P=PU

No steering movement at all when the left-hand wheel is lifted, a noticeable amount (handy protractor says 5 degrees) when the right-hand is lifted, and the same when the whole axle travels. Really hard to avoid with the servo in this location. Careful EPA adjustments keeps the chassis from dancing around at full lock; it's pretty well behaved.

And if you think that's a dodgy steering setup, look at what comes in the TLT kit: that 1-1/4 inch aluminum post they give you is supposed to go on the steering knuckle! (Max Climber manual pg 25)

Looks like an old 1:1 Chevy on a 70's Blazer frame project! I love it!

Played around with shock mounting locations a bit, trying to get the ride height and CG down a little bit while maintaining travel and artic. It's 70% droop, still some compression to it, but I managed to drop the ride height by a good half inch so it's a bit more stable out there on the rockpile.

For those of you building one (both of ya) here's what I did:

Move the rear shocks inboard, and onto the front of the crossmember to give them some more angle. This also means you won't have to hack the framerails for clearance.

Move the front shocks down beside the lower link mounts, and use the single link mounts rather than the double mounts to avoid hitting the spring cups.

The skidplate drags a little now, but that's what it's there for.

With the shocks in that location, it looks more like a full scale mounting location.

Goat, I like that setup much better, looks like you have really got a handle on it now, almost comp worthy.

It's almost comp worthy. I run it back-to-back with my Deep Vee chassis (which will be making its Colorado debut this spring) and it's not too far behind once I swap on the weighted Moabs. The high battery position hurts it some, and the servo on the chassis does limit both artic and overall travel, so it's not a true comp truck, but it's not a shelf queen either. A good TVP design will own it every time because it's so damned heavy, but I never intended it as a comp truck. It's a capable scaler, and a pretty good one now.

Anybody want one? I've gotten a couple e-mails from the other forums it's been on; almost enough to do a run.

I made up a set of new wheels for it (details in the wheel & tire forum) that I think look a lot more scale, like 44's on 15's. Since the TLT was designed around 1.9 inch tires anyway, and the Dawgs are a tight fit on 2.2's, well, why not...

The thread may be on a dusty shelf, but OG's been out on the trail. Still my favorite rig.
