We went out wheeling today at a new spot. Chino63, RckJeep, Brett (oops), and myself took a hike up an incredibly HUGE hill for some virgin rocks. Here is the gallery from the day on Nor-Cal: http://www.nor-calrcrc.com/gallery/v...umName=album76 I also made a quick slideshow/video clip of TINY in motion. Nothing special since I had to operate the camera while I drove with 1 hand. I guess I could have asked someone to video, but I was just too busy driving all day to bother . So I don't have many photos either, but here is that clip: http://www.nor-calrcrc.com/videos/TI...lls23dec07.php Please note it takes a little bit to download and may require a special plugin to view. Here were a couple of photos from the day. Things to work on for performance: - Claws with full foams were way too hard. I clearly had less traction than others. - More weight up front. I knew when I moved my motor back it would hurt performance. I need to compensate with some proper weight to improve it some. While it isn't a full set up comp rig, I would still like to get closer to one than it is now in performance. -Sam Last edited by SlinkySam; 12-26-2007 at 11:32 PM. |

Wow! Tiny is looking great! I just can't believe that you have some fancy/shiny wheels and tires. What happened to totally worn out Moabs?Lookin good.

Again Sam, an awesome rig, it's amazing that he made this thing modeled after the 1:1 Tiny and it works really well. It can do things in it that my buggy gets denied, but it works both ways. Seeing this rig come to this point raises the bar for any and all tube chassis builders. Oh and Sam, it's Brett not brian, oops |

Thanks guys. Hopefully it will be totally done by the time I make it out there. No plans right now, but the next time I go, my crawler goes as well. My wife told me so -Sam | |

| Balang & Jay - Thanks guys. I have more planned too. I just keep trashing it though on the rocks (like it should be) Lance - I had to put the fancy/shiny wheels & tires on. All my brothers are running the sweet stuff, so I can't let TINY not look its best too. I love my warn out Moabs actually. Still my best working tire I have ever had. I just need to tune the new tire/wheel combo to the weight of TINY to get them working better. The full foams and no weight really didn't let the tires shine at all. I was stuggling up the easy stuff that everyone else was making. Drumbeater - The spot could be comp worthy, but the rocks don't have that much variety in them. You get one good spot, then you have to walk and find another. Still I was able to make a small course that was irritating everyone Dave - Thanks man. Your buggy is on that same bar my friend. By the way, I fixed Bob's.... no.... Barry.... no..... I mean Brett's name. -Sam |

[QUOTE=SlinkySam;980104I was able to make a small course that was irritating everyone -Sam[/QUOTE] you got that right, I think he's smarter than he lets everyone think he is. Tiny didn't have much trouble with it. Jerk! |

Well I am stoked. We just had our 3rd event in the Nor-Cal series. I took TINY out and was able to take 2nd place . I was beaten out by Brandon by a big margin of 19 points, but I feel lucky to be up this high in the class of drivers around here. We had 39 rigs at the event this weekend and it was tough. Here is a quick photo of Team Shake & Bake all lined up taking the top 4 places for the event. Great job Team. Glad I can support the team still. While both Brandoon and I don't have dig on our rigs, I had a dozen reverses thanks to no dig and limited steering. So I guess I need to dig my machine to keep competitive. -Sam |

That's awesome man! Your driving must have improved ten fold to be able to take second place with that rig. |

Well I just got my Christmas gift today. First were the Mayhem Engineering 1.9 hole beadlock rims and second were the 1.9 Krawlers.... (Rock Crushers) from RC4wd. I haven't mounted them or anything yet. I only took a pic because I was excited. So in a few days I should be able to get TINY cleaned up from all the damage at the last comp and get some new RC4wd Rock Crushers mounted. First impression: Awesome looks. Impressons of the function of both the beadlock and Rock Crushers to come. -Sam |
