Did you guys know that if you hit the dig switch and sit in one spot on a rough driveway and burn the front tires for about ten minutes straight the front axle gets really hot? Like 209 degrees hot! Motor was the usual 110. |

[QUOTE=EeePee;2026564] Did you guys know that if you hit the dig switch and sit in one spot on a rough driveway and burn the front tires for about ten minutes straight ... QUOTE] What purpose does that serve? Anyway if you happen to melt the axle casing don't say no one told you : If it gets that hot don't do that... LoL |

| Are your front tires now the same size as the rears? |

Why not hook it up to a drill and use a sanding block squeezed in a vise to scrub the tires?

Cause the tires were already on the truck and all I had to do was hit the dig and hold the gas and drink beer for ten minutes?

So finally after putting the dig servo in I got a chance to comp with the Losi. Took home the win, by a lot too. And man does the dig work flawlessly. No matter when I went to use it, it was there. This has to be the best mechanical dig out there? I mean I haven't tried them all, but the Losi sets the standard in my book. Almost as instant as an electric dig, allllmost. Well done Losi. Rest of the truck worked killer as well. Except the memory foams I have in the tires. Gotta change those out to something not memory as it's cold out here now. The Novak system worked perfect, had plenty of grunt and gas when I needed it. Hyperion batteries seem a bit cold sensitive, after the first course seeming a little sluggish, I kept them in my pocket til it was time to run, it was fine thereafter. That's it. |

We noticed that several brands of Lipos were affected by the cold. It was only 42F and my battery gave me half the usual run time.

Yeah, I'd guess all lipos are? All mine have been. Four or five different brands. I don't know about runtime, but they definitely have less kick in the pants than usual. Which I know that, I just hadn't realized it was so cold out already. |

Yep, Lipo's don't like cold... Do like you did and keep them in a pocket close to the body and they will perform a bit better... Glad to hear you like that dig, took you long enough congrats on the win too! |

| Made a couple changes. Big comp tomorrow. Not that I didn't know this already, but I was trying to take the lazy way out and not change out four foams. The predicted temps are in the 30s so as an experiment I put a Losi memory foam in the refrigerator overnight. I wanted to see just how hard it'd get if I were to run memory foams outside at the comp. It'll hold up my beer, it's solid as a rock. Couple minutes later it's soft again. Went to stock Losi non memory foams all around. |

Also flipped the front RPM 2 stage pistons over to try to keep from droppin a tire and maybe keep the front hunkered down during a climb? Who knows. Also made a battery plate to help get things lower and off the chassis. And Night Crawler body posts cause they're much cooler. |

Had to make sure it'd climb the steepness. Pistons are showing that they do something. Front pistons are set up for fast compression, slow rebound. The front dive coming down is excessive. Rear pistons are slow in compression, and fast in rebound. Rear is planted pretty good. Little bit of wheel slip, but overall climbs what I expected. Front end doesn't really stay hunkered down. Only 3 ounces in the front wheels. RTR at 4 pounds 11 ounces. |
