Now with a 1/10 scale in TX reach is not going to be a problem. I am thinking it would help you guys out in giant rock country. I know when I rock climb, if I stetch out my body reach and bring in my core toward the wall I can hang onto walls that normally would make me fall back. Now the con: wheel base further apart would increase reach and stability but trade ground clearance. So again this would be great for large bolder type rocks. Chime in.... I will stop babbling now... This has been one of the more interesting threads that I have read !! I am on the hunt for shifting and reducing weight on my LCC as well !! Thanks for all the input !! I know it's already been said, but the Alum. tranny parts made a HUGE difference in felt power and wheel speed !! I highly recommend them !!

I got my LCC down to 1185g body on (no bat/wheels) could drop another 60g with a tekin esc but i like the mm pro in this rig Ive saved weight in so many places even lathed my shocks (im running droop) to save weight.. i wasnt sure what to expect dropping so much weight from it but im glad i did, i picked up a win at Clovelly on the weekend and the bonus is faster acceleration/wheel speed + run time .. all details are in my build Hulksta's LCC |

I changed out EVERY screw and nut on the chassis end to aluminum. I did not change out ANY of the screws on the axles. Pre weight 1246g  Post weight 1223g  Total weight of screws and nuts (steel) on the chassis end 32g  |

Dude are all four of your shock top shocks mount broken? Looks like all screws ripped out. Also you qualify for dirtiest rig on RCC. * If you cleaned it you might drop some serious weight, then you will be back in the lead. |

Hmmm goin to have to see what my rig weighs w/o body and wheels, im sittin about 5.7lbs right now, lightened her up but needed to add 4oz back on the front, sedonas didnt want to climb. Also did not take a picture but I upgraded my trans with every single AL part possible. Stock trans with AL screws was 93g. Trans with AL screws and AL upgraded parts was 70g |

My tranny with all the alloy upgrades is 84.2g but i used titanium screws in the centre of the tranny... looks like you lost a fair amount by taking the dremel to the case, personaly i would rather keep my case sealed |

I went with running single 4S 1,000mah lipos...they're tiny little things that pack a nice punch and great run times too...my rig feels lighter and more nimble.

They're very similar in size to the battery you sell but they're 1cm thinner. They come in at 110g. I'm running the MOA kit with 80t motors/12t pinion, and I get a solid 15 min out of them. Since I'm using the MOA kit, I just mount them right out front over the axle. I run 2 of them with a y harness for practice, and 1 for comps. Quote:

I have been busy lately shaving weight on the LCC where it's not needed ! That and I siped and grooved my Rovers, Huge improvement overall. I still have alot of weight to shed to compete with Hulksta and his feather weight LCC. 1119 grams !!!...sheeesh !!  |

Great thread! I've been reading through it, and see your rear wheel weight posted....sorry if I missed it, but what's your front wheel weight now? Did you lighten them to the same as the rears after moving everything forward?

I run a lighter setup and have shoegoo'ed a couple led squares to the outsides of the axles. They are Mr. Goodwrench lead and weight a little more then a standard tire shop uses and they have been hanging on for two years of severe temp changes. This thread is killing me. I want a scale before Nats but maybe food will be a better choice right now. |
