Its all about the material the tips are made out of if you want them to last. Hudy and EDS tools use a really strong spring steel. Said to be made in the same place for both brands. Replacable tips are $5 IF you manage to break one. I broke a 1/16 ball driver and EDS replaced it for free. After that I ordered the rest of the tools I liked and the nice tool case. EDS tools have been my best RC related purchase to date. I have a fleet of 8 RCs to work on and the tools get used a lot. Good tools are worth every penny. These aren't allen drivers but still some of the best tools of their kind. Wera. The serations really make a difference. Phillips screws can get stuck on the tip and need to be tugged off. Better than slippin and strippin. |

1.SO I have been using these EDS wrenches and can tell you it is a REAL Strain trying to unscrew tight long screws (SC truck) the handles have been knurled but they dont have those awesome handles deep flutes like Losi or MIP so it is much tougher to grip and hold the handle. 2. Also so sick of these round handles ROLLING away into my screws, making a mess and rolling of my bench. I do use a foam pad to keep them on but I dont always wrench in that one spot The Black silver infinity wrenches are not knurled but they are hex shaped so its much easier to hold and deal with tight screws. THOSE LOSI and MIP wrenches are the best, IMO Last edited by toy4crawlin; 09-18-2011 at 10:19 PM. | |

Since I have alot of snap-on tools in my tool box, and I like there tools. So I guess its time to ditch the cheap ass Integy set and get me a nice set of snap-on and the price isnt bad either.

I have simply replaced the broken tips in all my cheap tool handles, with Hudy ones. I have 3 hudy drivers, and the rest are hudy tips except 2 bigger ones. Once those break, they will have the tips replaced with hudy. I am a firm believer in hudy. Since I am so hard on my stuff, I NEED tools to last. I have never had a hudy took break on me.

I just got a set of Axial's set and they are awesome! There is even a screw to undo the metal shaft and put it in a electric drill to help do beadlocks.

Whats the diameter of the EDS driver tips? Just wondering if they'll fit in the Dynamite handles...

I've used a set of Dynamite drivers for a few years and they've served me well - never broken a bit but they've started to round so they had to go (especially the smaller and most often used sizes such as the 1.5, 2 and 2.5mm). I've switched over to EDS now and whilst it's still too early to tell the only thing that I can say is that the apparent quality seems much better. I do agree though on the round handles rolling away. (Someone please buy a few different makes and subject them all to the same amount of use so we can finally put this issue to rest!) |
