Thanks for the added titanium details, very helpful!
I didn't elaborate in my reply that it is at the very least as strong as the metals used and much lighter. Some where in my thread I showed the difference in weight between the stock TRX4 links and Lunsford Titanium links.

I would replace the uppers with aluminum or titanium, too. The stock links are quite heavy.

I did promise some pics so here a photo diary of our 4 days in Ukiah and at RPP.

As Ernie, Casey and Nate (Codyboy, Humboldt and Natedog) start to turn a nice condo into a RC repair shop!

Friday, the play day At the RPP complex!!!!

Here is my old Kaiser showing off some Codyboy TRX4 weights and some cool new Lunsford Titanium links!!

Nate and Casey sharpening there skills on the outdoor RPP crawler course.

RPP's Very Cool Jeep!

I didn't get many photos of day one, but here we are at the start of day Two. This was our sun rise view of Clear Lake shot from the balcony of our condo in Nice Calif. We were about 35 minutes from the comp site. Who could ask for a more refreshing start to our day????

Registration at the comp site!!!

Here is the RPP gang hard at it.

The old Junker in the vehicle line up.

Everyone getting ready for the group photos.

Nate, Casey and Ernie's rigs.

They had 3 different courses set up so you could pick and kind of choose where you wanted to run so this is a few shots of the direction I went. It was a good mix of creek bed, rock climbing and steep trail cimbing. Fun Fun Fun!!! As you know, it is kind of hard to drive and take photos, so did the best I could. Us old farts don't multi task very good!!

Oh what a welcome site for some one with a challenging bladder, A bathroom on the trail!!!! Potty stop.

This was at gate 43 of 85 gates, did a battery change here also.

Coming down one of the rock shuts

Photo stop to catch some of the other drivers in action.

This was a tuff gate for a lot of the trucks!

Action shot of a Fresno TRX4!

Natedog trying to navigate through a tight spot.

Here is Casey making a nice climb through a challenging gate.

This was a off camber side hill rock that just really wanted to pull you right into that poison oak bush!!! You needed to stay higher than this guy!

Way better line!

Nates turn!

Here is Casey pulling a good line with Nate right behind him.

Dig little truck, Dig!!!

A change in position??

A little 4 wheel steer came in handy for this guy.

And now for the raffle!!!
I think fun was had by all!!! Maybe see you there next year!

Ernie

Just a little update on what Codyboy has been doing.
I wanted to build a couple rigs for my son and grandkids for Christmas, so been working on a couple Twin Hammers.

I will get back to my TXR-4 after the first of the year.

Those look great! Who made the chassis for the green one? I love that and the Jeep front end.

Thanks bud, that is one that I built in 2013, here is the build thread.
My Twin Hammer up grades.
Since I'm going to start on new Hammer build I figured passing it on to family was fitting!

Yes, the firm are your best bet! If they aren't enough for you you have the option of adding external springs to them.

Well its been a while since I gave this Old boy some love. Here are a couple tect mods I've had on my ToDo list. For the guys that just can't get their pinion/spur mesh just right.

Believe it or not I used a 4-40 tap in my dremel to cut the slots between the holes.

Next, if your motor moves just a little after you tighten the motor holder housing. This fix may help you. I drilled a 3/32 hole in the housing and just started a 3mm set screw. I put everything back together put some E6000 glue around the set screw and tightened the set screw until my motor quit moving in the housing. Hope these tips help someone out a little.

Last couple things I did was put my locker and over drive gears in my front axle. Also put my MIP drive shafts in.

Thanks for looking.

Thanks for the kind words.
The new over/under gears are a nice addition to the drive train. I did away with the front and rear open diff option so they are both locked. This is basically a crawler rig now! I have a second TRX4 that is all stock for trailing.
With the China market being flooded with weights my prices weren't competitive anymore so there was no need for me to make them anymore.

How do you like the overdrive gears up front?

I've been wondering if its gonna be overkill to underdrive the rear too.

Happy Easter Casey!! I have been working on a axle order this week so I haven't had a chance to try it out yet. If It is to much I would still go with the overdrive front. It might be to much running it that way in a trail adventure type of event. One of the reasons I did both is because the front and rear diffs are lock so I think with the front pulling more it will give me a little of the steering back. Time will tell!

I did underdrive in the rear on mine, spools front/rear. Under only in the rear made a noticeable difference, so I don't think I'll be going over in the front anytime soon...

I did both UD and OD, it does seem a bit extreme, but this will be on a Comp Class 2 truck, so I need to test more before. Will be using the Machined stock if I find the jump too much.
