Hmmm, I have a feeling my ESC could be bad too based on our last outing. If so, prolly going with the Quickrun 1080 I put in my SCX10ii. That thing works great and seems to just sip juice from the battery. Lasts forever on a 2800mah 3S Floureon.

How did you turn it back on? I just lost mine, by also updated the rc firmware via traxxas link and assumed that was the cause(the app prompted me to do so).

Well my steering servo final is breaking, seems to be weaker and weaker now as I'm sure it over heated or something. Could barely get through an easy section of rocks without backing up multiple times trying to get the wheels to turn its noticeably worse than what it was new. I saw 128F yesterday on it just crawling over some tires in my living room lol. hotter than the esc was ha

time to pick a nice replacement

My LHS has their demo down with a burned steering servo. Gears did not break, but the servo motor failed.

5th battery through mine and the steering servo died, Had to carry it a mile back to the parking lot.
Quick question, when I am cruising along the flat trail on my way to the rocks I usually set the cruise control to match my walking speed. Should I be using high or low for this? What would be easier on the motor/ESC?

That's a good question. I never got mine set up to use. It didn't last long enough sadly. 2 hours of total use before it had major issues.

If your on a flat trail your fine in 2nd gear and even on a small hill, just don't slow crawl over things with it. Or steadily creep along at a very slow speed that first gear can do (unless your going downhill suppose)

Try not to let it get in the way of the drive you need to have fun out there too I used second gear to launch out of a ditch that I couldn't properly crawl out of haha

Savox 1270tg @7.4v with old school castle bec. All other servos and rx are running off a traxxas et-3s. Savox servos cry alot but it's been working fine otherwise.

I bought a HH SVH 500, with built-in BEC. Any reason that this won't work?

The esc will be more reliable with an external bec dedicated to the steering servo. Also it's 8v capable, why not give it the voltage for more powah?

I've been doing some repair/service for my local guys and one of the guys had ESC burn up a few days ago. It's sitting on my bench now.

I'm sure there's more to the story but what I've been told is: it was working but then the magic smoke came out. Running 3S on a fully stock set-up.

He's upgrading to a Mamba X and HH Pullerpro 3500kv.

We were on the trails about 15 mins in the first time it stopped. Servo went out. Well digging around in the machine the esc took out the battery and the servo. I hope the receiver is ok. I'm guessing the internal bec gave out and bam. It's supposed to handle 3s just fine according to the advertisement. Either way it's getting a mmp and 2850kv castle creation.
