The ratios aren't as spread out as Axial over/underdrive gears, with Axial gears I only run overdrive fronts gears (for comparison sake!)
Good to hear.
I was thinking of just overdriving the front, but if there is not huge gap in ratios then I may pick up the od/ud sets.

Some new 1.9 rims and rubber for the Bronco....
SSD slot wheels
Proline Swampers (Predator compound)
CI Lil' Nova 4.50 Comp Cut w/ Soft Outers (front) w/ Firm Outers (rear)
Vanquish .225 SLW Hubs (black)
Locked Up RC Acorn Wheel Studs

I'm looking forward to trying out the new Super Soft Predator compound.

Looks great, when I first seen those wheels I thought they would look right at home on the Bronco. Nice job

I ended up ordering those exact wheels with the Hyraxes and then I came across this thread and immediately ordered the TSLs! Also ordered that battery tray. I put all the Samix bits on mine too except for the link mounts and I put the Samix brass hubs on my front axle. I put the LED kit in the body and plan on using the matte clear on the top just like that guy did in the video.

Another day out with the Bronco. Performance was pretty damn good...but I need just a bit more weight forward. I'll probably order a pair of Samix brass hub carriers and maybe even SSD's new Bronco front bumper while I'm at it!!!

The Predator Swampers definitely added to some pretty spectacular crawls.....but with that being said, they sure are soft tires and I bound up a rear tire like I've never seen before. The result of this mess was a torn tire and a broken portal axle gear. My day was done

I really like the look of those slot wheels, but I literally just got done getting rid of all the chrome on my Bronco. Do you know if they make anything like that in black?

They don't make a slot wheel in black, but they all produce a slot wheel in silver that can easily be painted.

So those tires are the 4.75” tall xl super swampers? Just want to make sure. The look of the tires and wheels is awesome. How does it sidehill with the 4.5” foams you are using? Does the tire start to fold over? Thanks.

Wow! You really messed up your tire. What cause the gear breakage?

Correct Ben. I always go down one size with my Crawler Innovations foams and I'm very happy with the tires performance. I don't vent my tires because our main crawling season is the winter where we get lots of rain vs snow. The tires don't fold over.

The bound up tire caused the gear carnage!

Gotta love the roots! Traction is a good/bad thing at times. The branch bridge on my course is known for twisting tires.

How much thicker are the slw .225 hubs than the stock hubs that come with those ssd slot wheels? Did you go with wider hubs for looks or was there interference with something? Thanks

Ben

I’m pretty sure they are more narrow. They look to me to be closer to the 375 hubs.

The VP .225 SLW hubs are equivalent with the SSD hubs. I use them because Locked UP RC scale acorn bolts thread into the VP hubs, not the metric SSD hubs.

I saw a review on amain... someone saying that there was some play with the VP hubs and whatever hexes they were using. Do you notice any play or are they a snug fit with the trx4 hexes? Thanks .

There isn’t play in any of mine. 4-40 thread pattern.

So you used 4-40 lug nuts with the ssd hubs that came with the wheels?
