i think its all a simple fix of someone creating a spindle to move the drive angle up but keep the ride height the same,, i looked at quite a few options at the lhs for a spindle to do such thing but didnt have any luck,, i dont have a mill or i would try to make my own out of aluminum ill see if i can come up with a CAD file or something tho and maybe someone then just needs to make it??

For my self, I have zero issue with this - Axial is no different than aftermarket by my logic. (My 1:1 FJ40 had a Chevy small block
and I pondered putting a Chevy in my '73 Bronco just to piss people off !)

How much wider is the exo hex to hex? That would be the determining factor anyway for me personally.

I gotta admit I'm not much of a scale guy - I don't understand how you can call the TW a scale model anyway with regards to this. It's supposed to be a scale rock racer which is unlimited in most ways by definition. There could be a trend towards wider front ends right now for all we know, it's the nature of 1:1 competition, maybe next year EXO wide would be scale - ha
I sure don't mean to offend anyone, this is just my opinion (wacky perhaps)

The exo front is too wide for a 1.9 rig, unless you plan on offering shorter arms and links..

How wide? do u know the track width?
Shorter arms would defeat the purpose completely

I don't mind wider at all but there is a limit. I'm trusting BMRC took this into consideration

My terra-wraith is about 12 inches outside to outside with OMF's .185 hubs and Rockbeast II's. The exo front end would be wide because a 1.9 wheel could not be offset enough to keep the track width reasonable without rubbing the arms.

what about an upright dual front shock mount that doesnt stick up too far? maybe using 90-95mm shocks.
also, maybe a light bar.

i like the idea up locking and unlocking front diffs.

i would also sign up for a more scale, better looking rear axles truss. the stock one isnt really a truss, it just pretrudes out of the axles housing, and looks like an afterthought.

i think new front arms are also in order. not longer, but beefier, and for the guys that are running upright shocks, have the shock mounts facing the right way.

i like your guys envolvement in the TH where there is a lack of aftermarket support.

why not keep the TW diff and just make a wide track kit? I know a lot of 2wd minis have wide track kits why not this? The only problem i see is the rear axle do you get a new one or some how widen it?

Nothing at all unusual about a wider front track width. I know it's an angle you dont usually see but any modern desert race car is substantially wider at front for many of the same reasons we are thinking - travel and relaxed driveline angles. A n early Porsche is another example; those are like a foot + wider at the front! (just an example, little in common I realize)

Yes a wide track kit, but not too much wider, still want it to look realistic-scalish. With upgraded shafts that won't break. I've also noticed the inner bearing on the spindle is really small and mine are worn out. If someone offers replacement spindles they need to have a little bigger bearing I think

Just make the new arms with a little bit of a angle up at the spindle end to get the axle on the same plane as the arm. Wouldn't need a bunch of parts, just a arm swap. Would lose a little ground clearance, but you gotta trade something.

That is why I'm using the B4.1 rear arms on my TH, they have that kick up for the outer hinge pin carrier.

update:

the bell crank steering conversion plate for the stock cantilever shock setup is complete. it uses parts from the 2wd slash and requires you to switch to an aluminum servo horn. we just need to test it and take some pictures.

the TH - EXO front diff conversion is about 70% complete. the lower plate is done and i'm currently tweaking the shock mount part of the upper adapter plate.

as expected, no progress on vaterra differential upgrades.

Wraith - EXO front IFS conversion is about 40%.

Are you working on a bell crank set up for the upright shock tower design?

in about a week. it looks sick. like it was made that way.

you WILL have to do very minimal clearancing on the plastic on the bottom of the TH chassis.
