Posted up on DD's thread. Got the kit started, but no shocks so I put it all back together stock for now. Ran out of time. Maybe tomorrow night I'll do just the steering plate and hold off on the shock conversion.

Installed (and subsequently removed) the DD kit last night. Numerous problems with binding and misalignment. Slop in the bellcrank arms too with the supplied bushings. I'll be contacting Daren about quality control from his machinist. I did flip the steering link screws after the pic, but the servo arm nut still hits the top plate. If I installed anything incorrectly, please SOMEBODY let me know. No instructions were provided with the kit.
Shock tower hits the two cantilever protrusions. Wasn't looking to cut down any of the stock parts.

Here's the kit after removing it all and after buying shocks

hey pockets, I looked at mods/upgrades, for the Twin Hammers before I bought mine, and I say couple of builds of people using the BMRC kit with the Derwood steering and the Derwood steering with the GCM kit, and both of them had to make modifications to make them work correctly, so maybe the mods make it work properly, when I do upgrades, I want direct bolt up, with very little adjustment. cause I looked at Derwood, BMRC, and GCM, but wasn't sure, I know GCM, I got there motor forward and hard pan kit on my SCX10, and a EXO solid motor mount plate, and like there products.

I did not have to modify or clearance anything when I installed mine.

Hey Phil- I'll have to bring mine over and compare the two kits side by side to see what happened during production. Mine is DEFINITELY not right and has a lot of play in the bellcranks up and down. I'm not the only one that's had this happen with the new batch of kits.

Just ate the spur gear running the stock motor. Anyone know where to order the 32p Losi spur? No one local has it anymore since the XXX-NT was d/c a while back

Yeah, checked there. Ended up buying a HR aluminum one from RPP along with their motor plate. Mine broke where the internal locknut is that holds the motor clamp screw.

Got the DD kit installed again with the servo relocation bracket. Just have to get a new servo horn and make a battery tray.

Here's another shot of the servo relocation and tower kit. It's a tight fit, but JUST clears the main spars of the cage. Had to snip the two angle pieces that cross over the shocks.

And an overhead view. Receiver fits perfectly on the side of the steering servo.

Looks awesome. I want to see how your battery and steering horn clearance play out. I could not make mine work. But you are using a different battery.

Sucks, but I may have to lose the driver if I keep the battery where it is. The battery needs to be elevated so the cage will clear the sides. Figuring out a standoff tray.

Just got my replacement bushings from Daren. Not JUST them, but also a new pair of bellcrank arms and screw/locknut. That's customer service!

I got my Derwood replacement parts as well. Same way. I installed them last night. Thumbs up on the customer service. My Steering is now much right her with minimal slop.
*side note. While I was redoing my steering I found my knuckle kingpins to be causing a lot of steering resistance. I backed off the grub screw a 1/4 turn to allow the pin to rotate a little with out coming out. Seems to have freed it up a bit. I'm sure mud, water, and dirt are not help out those tight clearances. Hopefully I didn't stress my servo to much.

Which grub screw are you talking about? Do you have a pic?
