I'll be working on a few items once I get access to the mill at work next week. Nothing major, but should help out with a couple of issues. I still need to build my Gmade 103's also. They should be done this week. I'll get pics of them and the aluminum spur I've been bashing.

I'll have a few of it torn down for shock rebuilding tonight. Finally putting my XD103's together and redoing the valving on the front pair. Way too stiff with the stock oil/piston combo. Also installed my Jevne battery tray.

Sweet. Did you win that battery tray at the races?

I saw you posted some pics on the u4rc thread. How did you like the changes to the track? The old straight away looks like big whoops or small jumps now. Were you able to get a rhythm through that? Or is it just out of control now?

I got it at the last race (charity bid for $35). The whoops are where the old smaller bumps were just before the start/finish straight. They're....challenging. I don't have the punch to clear the double that leads into them now. The end of the whoops is VERY loose instead of hard pack how it was last month. I'm softening the nose to absorb more.

I dig that battery tray.

Just a heads up on the hexes, Losi aluminum hexes will fit on the TH. One issue is that the TH pins are smaller than everyone else uses so there will be a little slop/movement of the pin inside the back of the hex when you start/stop and forward/reverse. That will quickly snap the pins with some power behind it. Jevne fixed his by drilling out the axles to fit larger pins, like Traxxas or Losi.

I haven't drilled mine out yet. For the next race I'm gonna stick with new TH hexes. At the last race I broke every part of several axles because I was fully locked in the diff with 3s and a SV3/3800 castle short course system. I'd like to finish a race this time so I'm toning it way down with a 12 turn brushed motor, silly putty in the diff, new bearings, and 2s batteries.

Thanks for the heads up on the hexes! Hopefully I'll have time to drill out the axles for better pins. I'm running a locked front diff with a 2s system. 2150kv 13.5T sensored with 86/28 gearing. So far, the only thing that I've outright broken has been the hexes, a stock spur, and one spar of the rear cage.

More info I got from Greg: get some good drill bits. He snapped a few regular bits when he drilled his.

Good and bad deal getting packages at work...can't do anything with them yet! New Axial beadlocks for my Gmade tires. Can't wait to start fighting with them... ugh.

great pics pockets , theres a guy on the vendors forum (gunnar) that sells tungsten or ultra hard steel pins for the hammers , cheap too !! the axles are very hard steel and the drilbits are so small its a hard job even with a good pillar drill , the titan pins are the answer or seat your standard pins in some good locktite threadlock in the back of the hexes to stop the movement under hard throttle , tamiya size hexes fit pretty good , looking good , thanks for the update

wheels look lovely i must say , are they 1.9 ? great choice have you always run the 86 spur ? and how does it compare to the 78 if you did run one ?

They're 1.9 from the SCX10. The 86 definitely gave more climbing ability, but a loss of top end from my 78. I've locked the trans in 2nd gear to help compensate, but I may gear up on the pinion from a 28 to a 30 to get more top end.

i think a 30t pinion could be the answer !!!

I'm doing some cleanup on my Photobucket account so some of these may disappear for a while until I can redo the links.

...I think they're all fixed now. If anyone finds a broken link on my posts, please let me know!
