Got the second mounting ring cut, drilled the added weight rings. Started mounting things up to take a look. I found I need a couple washers between the rings to keep them flat (the knuckle isn't quite flush with the mounting ring). The smaller half weights are actually plates from my blue monkey RC xr10 rear weight system. The fit perfect. Last step is to fab up some tabs to lock the mounting ring in place. I decided to cut down a standard washer. Still need to trim down the length of one then drill them. Can't wait to get these on and start testing. Here are a few pics from my progress tonight. |

They look like an awesome way to go! As I'm running Berg offset with spacers on my creeper, with aluminum he knuckles .. if you end up making some sets, it would be a great way to go for me as well... very smooth work! Keep it up the great idea

Got the mounting tabs cut, drilled and then I assembled all the parts. It came together well and feels rock solid. Need some screws of the right length and then I'll be rea ![]() ![]() A few pics of tonight's progress. (Keep in mind all this has cost me so far was about $30 for the brass washers.) |

| ![]() I need to weigh it all up but I think the base mount, and a full ring should come in at 3oz. I'll probably run it with another half ring which would get me to 3.75oz.

That's awesome! I want a set! Lol. . . But really. I'm planning on adding weight to the front now that I have dig.. it doesn't seem to want to over power the grip of the rear wheels in some places .. an I'm running 7oz up front an 3oz in the rear now.

Finished up the parts and got everything mounted. Fits great with no binding or rubbing. The parts weigh in as follows: Knuckle mount - 1 5/8 oz Full ring - 1 3/4 oz Half ring - 7/8 oz Per side that gets me to 4 1/4 oz and change for the hardware. Just about what I wanted. Hopefully I can get some time on the rocks this weekend to test them out. A few more pics: |

Got the rig out for some testing on my backyard course this morning and I can see a definite improvement. The from seemed like if was glued to the rocks. My balance needs some work and the front wheels were still weighted (which I want to pull out) so the rig is pretty heavy but these knuckle weights are keepers. Some pics below. The shots of it going up the near vertical face are great considering I could never pull that line in the past. |

everyone, just wanted to put an acknowledgement out to thomas of rmdesignworks. he's looked at my idea and is going to be exploring the production of this knuckle weight system. given his ability to create and refine ideas and bring them to market i'm sure it will be another great addition to his product line. if my simple concept helps benefits others i've done my part. thomas, i'm looking forward to seeing where this goes! |
