Remember me? Well back on it full time again, Lesson 1 dont use Acrylic Enamel for painting frames. Chips real easy and isnt worth the pain. Thankfully I got help from another crawler with a sandblaster that gave me a perfectly cleaned frame.

now begins the fun part ........ remembering how each piece has to go in

Rear area

My aluminum roof

Front shots

This wouldnt really be a Fun enough Buggy with anyone's 35T so I decided it needed a little more, for now I built a 12D I had laying around from my Oval days. Will it work ...... uhm dont know but cant wait to find out LOL!

the Green will be delrin once I get tires mounted and toe set right.

HPI Gear Reduction in place

and the flip side ..... ( just waiting on a few parts to connect all the driveline up )

covered up

my nice little home for the wiring

knowing i wouldnt have to much room to stuff a power source for my lights i decided to use a BEC unit i have. it puts out 6V and with the LED's at 3V each it works out great.

and with the interior in place ..... its all virtually out of site, side panels will close it up

windshield (still got some minor things to make)

teaser

Real

Scaled?

well more to come but Im one of those guys who watch cars going in circles so for today ......... its my Holiday

Thanks. Its nice going into my man cave and knowing its to work on this again. The little things I was sweating are really making it come together and bring it closer to its big brother.

I havent yet. Ive got the same servo in it that I used on my 2.2 with about 188oz so it should handle the wheels well. in my hands i cant feel where there could be any binding problems. it does feel like its gonna be a low EPA setting though for lock to lock.

I dont know how well it will work since the Atlas is a 1:1 gearing but for now the 12D will be fun in it.

Quote:
The gear ratio is transformed from 23:1 on the stock truck to a whopping 174:1 after the installation.
the Europe HPI link calls it a 1:7.4 reduction unit and I suck at math when it comes to figuring it out but thats how its listed.

just regular styrene for the radiator, the fins actually are in the wrong direction . its V-Groove siding, i forgot the spacing but can measure and the frame is I-Beam shaped styrene.
