Hey Justin, Sorry man.., but i wanted to get this one started fresh right after the Clampy build before all the rest I've got planned.. ( and there are still ALOT of them left to build..) Truth be told, I actually built a version of this truck back in the fall of 04'. It was based on a Tamiya Pajero chassis. Granted since then my skillz have gotten much better at building stuff IMO, but I shortened a stock clod body, filled in the hood scoop, and out came the yellow paint.. The truck no longer exists, but I actually think i still have this body buried somewhere down in the basement..!!! Here was the first crack at the "U.A.K-10" from 5 years ago.. ( back before everything had tlt and axial axles under it...) Quote:
LOL- Thanks for the interest man..! Hope your glued to a seat you like, because it will be awhile yet before its done.. | ||

Hey Guys, Had some time this morning, so I wanted to start on the most important part of the body, which is the rear firewall.. This will be the piece that ties the lexan front and the styrene rear bed together.. This piece has to come out perfect, or nothing will match or line up right.. I block sanded the rear of the cab, and made sure it was 100% flat..... Then i traced the outline onto the styrene, and then laid out the back window and rear indentations... Then came the fun part of cutting it all out, and the hours of sanding , filing and test fitting began...... Fits almost perfectly... Then I added the rear filler panel, and filed small slots in the bottom, where it will rest on the frame rails... And here it is sitting in place. I am going to be adding more styrene on the inside of the firewall for strength, and i will then attatch it directly to the lexan cab... ( I can't give away ALL my secrets on how I'll be doing that though...) Once its ALL done, it will be SUPER strong, and will be able to widthstand multiple rollovers, and possible crashes.. ( I hope..) More to come soon.. |

hell yeah time for a chevy! i find it so ironic that the chevy will get driven hard and beat on while the yota gets pranced around on gravel roads. how scale! haha killer build already |
