Small update on the U.A. K-10 ... Heres how the rear styrene cab backing will be held to the lexan cab. I made these styrene tabs and braces that will eventually be glued to the lexan on the inside. The lower braces are also screwed directly to the sides of the body, assuring it will not move, and also adds strength..This body is going to be given the "rust" and "scrape down to the metal" treatment on the inside, and then painted yellow on the outside. Next step was to correct the wheelbase. I had been running a blazer body on this chassis, and it was too short, so it HAD to be lengthened. hers a before pic against the real 1:1 truck Next step was to start measuring out the drop bed, so it would fit correctly on the MSD "BB-51" chassis. I also cut down the bedsides, and trimmed the wheelwell openings . Here it is during mock-up Next up was to cut holes for the shock towers, and then add the sides I've still got ALOT of trimming here and there and tweaking to do, BUT heres the U.A K-10..!!! The bedsides are not glued on yet, just taped so i can get a feel of what still needs to be trimmed next. I will also be adding bedrails, the "correct" steps on the fronts of the flares, and a very detailed tailgate... More to come soon... Last edited by 51WillysJeep; 01-25-2009 at 03:24 PM. |
