what did u do to the front suspension just swap shocks? it looks like the angle on your a arms is steeper then mine and i also just swapped shocks so i was wondering what else you did to get the little bit of extra height. |

I used these shocks, they are longer then stock and push the arms as far as they can go. http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXVU97&P=7 You can also use stock TLT shocks if you cut a hole for the shock and flip the shock mount to the top of the chassis. Getting rid of that enormous front bumper section really helped the clearance and overall performance of the truck. Last edited by Mnster; 06-14-2007 at 12:13 AM. |

I would have liked to have seen you go for a second run. Your stuff was killer capable, don't blame you for leaving though, that super class course seemed to drag on forever. Jim and Rick will be back up for another trip around august.

The bumpers stinger grill guard section broke off. So I had to reweld it, not sure if I posted that it broke or not. Now if your talking about the Rick Jeep, yeah dremel work. |

I didn't remove any material from the suspension. The shocks are constantly pushing down as their travel is to long. The shocks are partially compressed when at rest mounted in the truck. But, as I said removing that large bumper section really improves your approach angle, possibly making the truck look higher. As you can see when Jim's ride first started out that large plastic section was cut off the front and replaced with a skid plate. I don't have any pictures with that large stock bumper section but look at your truck and compare. |

I'm running a 55t lathe in this truck, but will soon upgrade to brushless. The gearing isn't low enough to really crawl like I want to. Yours might be fine though, this thing weighs a ton with all the extras Jim has installed. In the process of ordering few new parts for this rig now. 1. Tower pro servo's 945's Jim is still running a standard servo for steering and the winch is getting to weak and needs to be remade. 2. Micro servo so the steering wheel turns, Jim needs power steering. 3. Looking into getting some headlights. 4. Cheap brushless esc, Looking into getting the Tazer, may just end up with a mamba. 5. Lexan window glue, still haven't found the right comprimise of flexiblity and holding power. |

Have you tried Shoe Goo for the windows? I cannot remember if that leaves the white film on lexan or not.

The set time is a little long but I'm thinking I will try that next. I've got a cheap $32 BL Esc coming from hong kong along with 3 servos. Once the stuff comes I'll put Jim to work. |

Shoe Goo is very similar to contact cement. stick the two parts together, pull them apart and let them sit for a few minutes. stick them back together and you should have just enough time to get things positined before everything starts to set up. Usually is only a 10-15 minute process, smaller amounts take less time usually...

I'm mostly concerned with finding a way to hold the windsheild in as it likes to spring back and slide all over leaving glue all over. Thats why I liked Ca I simply tacked it down. But, as soon as the truck would roll and something would impact it would just snap off. There is a very minimal bond area 1/8 to a 1/16th edge around the window so it has to be lined up perfect.

hey mnster what about epoxy putty. you could roll it into a strip and form it around the back side of the window. Just a thought. |

| Yes, looks like it has a lot of features to. No drag brake, but it should be ok in this truck. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...2936&rd=1&rd=1 |
