I like the way you unitized the tube in to the chassis. Real cool work. I for a long time have wanted a truggy but hate to destroy a Bruiser chassis. Now with the Axial being so available it is not such a big deal. Thanks for sharing the build.

Been a crazy couple of days trying to get this thing running for the G6 scale comp that was yesterday. I made the deadline but still have lots of ideas in my head that I will need to implement. Late Friday night I finally figured out how to mount the switches and winch controller. I used some 64 thou aluminum sheet and a bunch of switches, wire and electronic components to make up this sub-assembly: The panel also also acts as a fire wall with the switches located in the driver side foot well, it also just so happens that from the cab the servo looks like the heater box in the 1:1: Everything fits just the way I like it but will still need to make some fender wells to protect my wiring and switches from the elements: I also spent some time adding small scale details, here is the dash I made using some thick lexan that I painted the body color. I added the chome gauge bezels from Rpp and gauge stickers from Bowtie, steeling wheel is Axial and it actually mates with the firewall like in the 1:1: Someone asked how I mounted the body and for this rig it was all about velcro. On the truck I made three tabs from the 22awg steel, you can see them in the picture before last, on the body I shoe goo'd a thin aluminum panel to the underside of the body. With this set up the velcro should have less of a chance to flake the body paint: Here are the glamor shots taken at 2:35 AM the morning of the G6 comp: Due to the looks and performance I've totally fell in love with this rig. |

That is a slick firewall switch panel. I also like the green with flat black.

After the comp playing around, this is such a fun rig to drive Fav pic: Wife banned me from RC today, hopefully after a couple days she will forget and I'll be back in the garage finishing this truck up, there is lots more to come on this.... |

Tihis rig turned out great Erik, as all of yours do. The wiring on all of your rigs is the first thing that always catches my eye, super clean and sano. I plan on going to Montana this year hope to see the rig then.

I saw that rig at the G6 and all I can say is it's even more awesome in person. It is definetly the baddest FJ I have seen. I made this my desktop pic after the G6. Last edited by See65; 01-31-2011 at 08:17 AM. Reason: pic |
