Hey Shane! Could you take a picture of the underside of the body for me? I think that's a cab I built.

This must be a pipeline welders truck pre 2016.... Now they drive around 1980 Ford Taurus station wagons with Lincoln 110 welders in the back..

Great build buddy!

I dont want to speak for him but he still doesn't have his final set for this probably. Once the rest is stapled down a little more, we may make some changes to wheel or not, and get him a different color, who knows. Here you go though. They use 2mm hardware for caps (didnt have any for pics) and thank you for the kind words.

PS, I got his Hutchinson's..... talk about nice wheels

Curiosity, I visited with a company a while back to do some 3D printing for my company. They were putting the 3D printed parts in a rubbermaid container with some chemical which would then smooth the finish due to the chemical in the air in that container. Didnt know what was out there for that these days.

Great build buddy!

Ive seen some of those.

Im going for the "I've been working pipelines for two years" instead of "i just blew my first 6 months pay on a rig" look. Yea. Want that "I irresponsibly spend my money but I am not crazy" look.

Wes

Not sure on the final color, so a smooth finish may not be needed. Could always have Josh upload to shapeways to print too.

Front bumper simple mount.

SCX skid just for width.

I really like those flares Are you familiar with those fiberglass crewcab bodies? If so, are they pretty much tamiya spec'd? I really cant wait to see this finished, going to be sweet. I love me some white collar welding rigs

Wes, yes, you can do a process called a vapor bath. Its a tub of acetone with your piece on a rack above the liquid. It works great for most things (made of ABS). I have been trying it on my micro bodies and it makes them glossy but not quite the nice "paint job" look I was going for. There are some other options I am trying like resins and stuff now, hope it works.

This build REALLY has me thinking about getting a 3D printer. Are the cheap ($350) ones worth it? Love the creativity here.

Heh?

Front hinge on the bumper mount using CarterFab and RCBro's various fab tabs.

Closed in the back of the cab. Made a velcro mount in the rear that also ties the interior into the cab. Double bam!
