I did these with junk I had around the shop. Could us heat shrink around the springs or sumptin. I dunno, working it out in my brain atm.

Find a way to use some of these and allow you to lower and lift the rear when you hook and unhook the trailer.

McMaster-Carr

Cant wait to see where you take this one.

A lightweight bicycle tube (19-25mm) would probably fit over your springs and be more flexible than HS.

Is that a Tamiya body?

could always cut the fingers off of black nitrile gloves. they are durable, don't dry out as fast as a latex glove would and the best part is you wouldn't have any glued seams to come apart.

Another good idea. I used some 1.25" heat shrink but it doesnt look good. Thinking about it, The springs will be out of sight anyways, so I will probably just use cut down springs and call it good.

Quickly made the chassis link mounts. Going with dual links and coil springs front and back. Wont be visible anyways.
Got in some sweet adjustable builder links from a friend to try out. Pretty slick.

I dunno why I didn't think of making some years ago. Howard at Howler Customs whipped these up. Going to make rig setup alot easier to figure out links.

Thanks. I am just making this chassis up as I go. Some folks on other sites have mentioned to do this or do that but I just do what I do. Just kinda going with half looks and half laziness to get the chassis built.

Up next, front coil spring mounts, then transmission/transfer case setup.

You should sell the rod end tool via shapeways, I would buy one, that would make that job so much easier!

As always, killer work.

Correct. Makes quick work of setting up the wheelbase on a rig.

Exact same suspension setup as the front of dodge trucks from like 99-2012 or so. Also very similar to the Jeep TJ if I remember right.

Just 2 parallel sets of links then a panhard for side to side control.

I kinda mimicked 5 link aftermarket dually suspension setups and whatever was easiest to build.

Also note, these fat links are for mock up and are slightly limiting full bump. Also also, the rig is sitting at full bump so the links jammed up against the chassis makes it look funky too.

Really? I had a 2003 Dodge Ram quad cab 4x4, and the front suspension looked nothing like that.

Was it a 1500? I believe in 02 the 1500s switched to independent front
