Brad, I like the new chassis plates. Is this chassis wider than your first setup with the AX-10 axles and trans? It looks like everything is almost inside the chassis plates. The shocks look like they are pretty straight with no spacers on top. I'm ready to start a new 2.2 with the AX-10 setup and this looks good to me. I've been impressed by some of the Ax-10 setups I've seen an run with. I have moved everything off my chassis and onto the axles on my SW3 and went to a brushless motor. The weight off the chassis changed the sidehilling it's better now. I still like the brushed motors more than brushless. Rick- |

| They are the perfect foam for our terrain IMO. Quote:
The chassis is still stock TLT width, because that's the same skid I've been running for a long time. It's 2 1/4" wide to the outside of the chasis plates. I moved the tranny over so that the overall width of the motor and tranny is somewhat centered in the chassis. The motor is still hanging outside the chassis more then I'd like, but I may go to a smaller spur gear to move the motor in even more.

I ended up 6th at todays comp with the new rig. I finished all 3 courses, just fell shy of the top 5 by a few points. An SWX did win the comp in the hands of a fellow Losi driver though. Good job Rubbaneck!! I got a little video of it in action from the comp today thanks to CRF450R. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5wp9rcRFZo4 |

I'm running the stock AX10 shafts still. I've only broke one so far in the rear, since then I clocked the rear axle a little to take some of the angle out of the yokes.

The stock driveshafts have been working great for me. I have the aluminum Axial driveshaft/yoke collars if the need comes up.

So is this SWX a new chassis or is it the SW3 modified? I just spent an hour reading this and can't tell what I remember?

Axial sent me a set of their rear aluminum lockouts and straight axles recently. I finally got around to the install today, which was as easy as it gets. Strip the outer C's and knuckles off the rear axle and remove the two outer bearings that sit in the axle tubes. Install the bearing onto the new straight shaft, slide the new inner axles into the locker/diff assembly and slip the aluminum lockout onto the axle tubes. Use the supplied M3 set screws to hold everything in place. Axial even includes a packet of shims to remove any slop if the need arises. I didn't need to use any myself, everything fit together perfectly. After the install you will notice there is very little slop in the rear axles with this set-up, and the ground clearance gained is going to be really nice. |

Great, and after I just bought the RCP ones, lol. Well, tell us how they are! Is it better to stick with the Axials? Do the Axial axles seem to be of good quality? Are they the same metal composition as the stock axles? Gotta know, gotta know. Lets hear it.
