mayhem comp double phatty's are on the way. Hopefully get them mid nextweek. I love the chassis so far. Great fit and finish. You were not lieing about it being light. So far it is 2.5 oz lighter than the old stock chassis plates and lexan body. The holes line up perfect for long rear upper arms with the Right amount of chassis seperation to help reduce torque twist. This thing is by far worth the money. Great job Tony. | |

Here are some pics during this build.... Axial Cvd's, Aluminum Knuckles, Heavy duty lockers.... Gotta have Losi Crawler 4'' shocks with internal springs. I'm going to try out a droop setup with these. Here is the stock tranny.... Here is the mirror tranny... Here in utah we have the fluffy white stuff called snow, so I think these are in order... Any more suggestions??? |

| Yep, Holmes and I designed the SPV-55mm width for Clod and Berg builds. Just need to assure your shocks are mounted on the outside of the chassis to be comp legal. Holmes ran the SPV2-55 at nationals with a Berg setup. |

hey, club had the first crawler night last night! truck ran pretty good last night, i'd say I was impressed with it & I'm still learning how to tune it up properly hehe. I had some serious interference though, i dunno if it's cause of all the radios around me or if i've got to isolate my electronics more, but it was driving me nuts. also need a bec it turns out. if i get the truck wedged somewhere and cramp the wheels and give it throttle, truck dies out till i let go the gas. thought you may want to know that got tons of people that loved the design, was definetly a crowd pleaser, we had 14 trucks on the course, which is pretty good considering it was the first crawler meet, track doesn't even have all it's rocks on it yet here's a picture of all the trucks Last edited by Tanqueray; 01-09-2009 at 06:55 PM. |

Ok I finally got the droop setup to work. Good thing for all the holes I think I tried all of them. Got it setup with 2 3/4 gc and 12.5 whellbase plus plenty of flex. I tucked the shocks inboard into the chassis but I dont think this shouold affect droop as bad as a conventional sprung shock. Will have to find out once my Wheels get here so I can mount up my old Losi claws and new foams. Here are a few pics....( the sprite is about 2" short of full flex.) any Suggestions are welcome. Thank Guys..... |

I like what you did with the shocks. Does it flex ok with no binding? Looking good

Wow. Here I have been telling everyone you couldn't do that then you go and do it. Did it mount right up as a droop setup or is there a little how to involved? |

I used 10mm spacers for the upper shock mount and 8mm spacers for the upper link mounts to the chassis. Running the long uppers (stock axial uppers) I was able to get the links out of the way. I used internal springs from TCS in the aluminum axial shock bodies under the piston and 15mm of fuel tube on top to take the dead spot out. It took some time to dial it in so the is NO BINDING. The front links are 70mm with 10mm spacers at chassis. I used 10mm spacers for the shocks up front as well. Had to run the shock inverted to get chassis clearance but that just help lower cg. Running 60wt oil in all shocks to slow them down a bit. With the shocks mounted all the way inboard on both the axle and chassis it makes them react like they are really soft. The shocks bo not have to move very much to get alot of flex. I think by running 80wt in the rear it will help slow things down a little more. With this thing flexed to max (about 65-70 degrees) I have a gap of about 1mm between the upper links and shock bodies. The same with the chassis and shock bodies. All in all I think it works great. Just need to get my Double phattys mounted up so I have more unsrung weight. Droop setups need unspung weight to work properly. I will get a couple more pics on here later tonight so you can see the mounting to the chassis. By the way there is zero torque twist with this setup. Good luck if you need more info just ask.....

Here you go. Pics of what I explained above. Starting up front here are the upper shock mounts. I cant give out all the secrets but a little hint- look at the rod ends.... Now moving to the rear. Same rod ends and the spacers are 15mm.. And pics showing that the shocks come about 1-2mm away from the links and chassis. This is with me really twisting on it hard by hand. I only have pics of the rear but the front is the same. I hate it when batteries die in cameras.... Now lets see what you guys do with it. Anything is possible with this chassis you just have to try every avenue to get it right. I am still playing with the Losi shocks but had to to give the head a rest. Thanks for the remarks guys. __________________ Still building and tuning ax10 comp rig!! Last edited by moabax; 01-13-2009 at 05:18 PM. |

well database crapped out :( Moab, do you have too much flex now? I've been contemplating going to a droop setup |

Ya it has a little more the I would prefer but I am currenty dialing in the losi shocks to replace the axial ones. That should bring it down a bit..

Finally got my mayhem Wheels. I mounted them up with NTW reach #8 in front and #5 in the rear. Losi rock claws for now until I get HPI rock grabbers back from my kids rig. I am running 4 balls in the front wheels and 2 in the rear. Hope you like it. |

It's looking sweet. I got a chance to take mine out for the first time last weekend and it worked great. Anyone that looks at the frame want's to know what kind it is and where to get one.
