This chassis has a higher demand than what I can keep up with at times. I've had a lot of emails asking for more of them, but right now I have other projects to wrap up before starting another batch. I will get to them as soon as possible.

I actually can't really address the issues of the new shock mount, but I can say that the losi shocks might wind up being a bit long. I was running the losi 4"'s until this past weekend and I went to a slightly shorter shock. I might suggest a big bore.

they just dont seem to articulate as well as my stock ax shocks did i was just asking because of the single end eye and the other end is just that solid metal loop with no ball in it.

You need to do the shock rod end mod. Basically you cut the loop off, file it flat, drill a small hole, feed a short bolt through from inside the shock, then screw on a Traxxas rod end. Clean it out, put it back together and go.

You take them apart from the bottom. 7/16" wrench IIRC.

Awesome build dickyT fo sho. I have some questions since im wanting to set my ax10 up for this chassis in the near future.

1. can you run a dig and a rear steer or just one or the other?
2. How is torque twist with this chassis?
3. Can you run a axial BTA on the front and rear if i do a rear steer?
4. With a 4 link front and rear setup what length uppers in aluminum did you use?
5. And how do feel about 30 degree bent delrin lowers for the front and rear?

BTW anyone who has this chassis can chime in if DICKYT is not available. I am having to collect parts slowly but surely as i can.

1. Dig or no dig only. Rear steer is not allowed in 2.2
2. Torque twist is not all about the chassis, its about suspension geometry. The chassis plays its part by providing better suspension mounting points.
3. If you don't care about entering a comp, yes you could. Theoretically anything done to the front axle can be done to the back.
4. Upper link length depends on a few things. I like mine so that the axle pinion is aimed at the transmission output or slightly higher.
5. Some like bent lowers in the front, I personally don't, but its been a while since I've tried them...might be time to experiment again.

Thumbs up Re: Underground Crawlers Fastback chassis

I like to have the servo/battery plate as close to flat with the ground as I can to keep it out of the way. Especially if the rig does not have BTA.

Just another opinion to help and confuse.

Well put as always. I forgot this thread existed, been a while

As far as bent links, 30 deg on the back is good, straight or 15 on the front is plenty. also note this chassis is deigned for a 60/40 setup so the font links are shorter than the rears.

Curious as to why anyone would not "like" bent lowers. The only negative I can think of is if they contact something somewhere in the stroke. And that probably just means they aren't bent right. Is there some other way they can negatively affect performance?

As far as the front go, too much bend and it hits the drive shaft. Also the front on the fastback is short so the straight links lead to smooth transitions. A small bend is a nice thing though.

Is "transition" referring to the shape of the link? Are you just saying the link is so short it's hard to make into a complex shape? Or what do you mean by "transition?

The transition from link to skid to nothing but tires touching the rocks.
