Time for a fresh round of upgrades for this rig. First up Creation Fab premium tubes, and Creeperbob Ti axle shafts for the rear axle. I used stock xr lockouts, aluminum hardware, and made some .063 aluminum braces for extra insurance on top of the axle cases. Weight: 5.1oz (146 grams) Width: 9-1/8" axle tip to axle tip. This is the first round of many new upgrades for this rig. |

Next up the transmission. Out with the old heavy Robinson Racing steel gears, they have served me well for a few years but it's time to move on. I picked up at set of 3 racing stainless outputs and HR aluminum gears. Here it is all buttoned up. The weight before the changes was 9.1oz/258g including the Conflux Stubby motor. The current weight as pictured below is 7.8oz/222g. Thats gonna be the best I can do until I can get my hands on one of those YTC cf motor plates. Got something new going on for the rig. I want to give a big thanks to Team Rowdy Racing for alot of good input on this. Front view, still working on the drag link / servo setup, I had to come up with something quick to get me by for a comp this past weekend. It's goofey looking but it works, it maxes out the vvd's. Overhead shot, electronics are packed in up front and down low. Battery is underneath the drivers side of the plate. Bias as far forward on the skid as it can get, no weight added 3lbs, 12oz rtr. That's with heavy but reliable mip drive shafts. I added 2 ounces of knuckle weight and ran it in a local comp Saturday, the rig won! The mount needs some tweaking here and there, and so does the rig, but it's all very close. |

Sweet battery/servo plate! I hope that yours isn't the only one made!

My GC3a has AR60 axles hung in it, but I am working on gathering parts for an AX10 and this would be a great "center piece"!

| Re: Rowdy's gc-3a What if you flipped the servo upside down with the same spacers on the bottom. You could probably use a very short link. With all these cool builds I was inspired. I ordered up some carbon fiber, and swung by the pet store to pick up a large rat. I figure since thats is how most people cut it how could I go wrong. The new mount looks awesome Chris, will you be offering it with different adjustable upper link mounts or just something similar to the GC3 location?
