Thanks man. To win a comp, you usually don't have to win every course.. sometimes just finishing is the important part.

No video.. gate 9 was easy if you had time to work it. I went into it wil 1:30.. so I tried 4-5 times.. everyone else went into it with 30sec or less. It was one of those gates where if you were a mm off, you didn't make it.

The rc bros gears did show up on time. So they got installed before the comp. I also changed out the hardware for aluminum. The shaft got drilled though for the driveshafts, and everything got installed. The trans did amazing. With the 35t 400 puller, and the 12t pinion, it was perfect. Good wheel speed, great punch, and still gobs of torque.

Here are some pics of it before I installed it.

I beveled both of the large gears.

Milled out a little window so I could see my gear mesh.

Adapter holes

BEAUTIFUL!

Before the comp I also installed new tire/wheel/foam/hub combo. At the moment it is a little wide for my liking. But it did great.

It got narrowed silver Voodoo's, narrow Y-Town wheels, axial plastic pin drive hubs, and new CI foam.

The foam setup is this:
Front: HF narrowed 6" comp cut inner, soft stock width outter
Rear: HF narrowed 5.5" normal inner, medium stock width outter.

For the cold weather, the front is a little firm. But I am not too worried about it for now.

Oh...... I forgot to say that the rtr weight is 3lbs 3.9oz.. And that's with 2.9oz of knuckle weight.
But it is too light I will be adding 1oz to each lockout, and probably 1/2oz to each knuckle weight.. So I am shooting for 3lbs 6.9oz. Which is respectable considering it will have 5.9oz of added weight.

I though you had the day.. But after seeing I finished course 3 and you didn't, I figured I had hope.

Sweating? Nahhh.. I don't get nervous at comps any more. Whatever's gonna happen will happen. Just gotta get out there, do work, and hope you put up enough to win.

Had another comp this past Sunday. The boxer is doing great!

Last comp it was a little wide and truthfully too light. So before this one I narrowed it and added some weight.

I narrowed both front and rear a 1/2". The front is now 11 1/8" and the rear is 10 3/4". I also added 5.8oz Each lockout got 1.6oz, and each knuckle weight got 1.3oz. With the rig sitting at 3lbs 3.9oz it was cool.. But didn't perform great. I am sure if I spent more time with it there I could dial it in.. But I just don't have the time, or feel like putting in that type of effort. So adding weight to the four corners was my answer. Now it's at 3lbs 9.7oz. And it is doing great.

All three courses were very technical this past weekend. Which was really nice for a change. The heavier rig did great and I know I will be keeping it there.

Here are the scores:

Unfortunately no pics or video from this comp.

I will try to get some pics of the trans and weight setup over the next few days.

That's typical of what I've found.

Light is an advantge without a doubt, but to a point.

Weight equals pressure on the tires, which equals friction, which equals traction.

The killer is more weight is more ass to drag up the hill.

Fine line.

Loving your build.

The fitment tolerances in this trans are very tight. Everything is machined to have a solid mesh. To keep that optimum smoothness, I beveled the gears. Once assembled I hooked up a drill to the trans and broke in the bearings. After that it was butter smooth. Grease went in and it was sealed up. And I haven't looked back since.

3lbs 7-9oz is my happy place. It just settles right and seems to have the right amount of traction.

Thanks man
