I’m leaning towards KLR/M for this rig, been wanting to try them out.

I’ll have to try those foams. Currently have the Krawlers stuffed with the PL dual stage right now and they do okay but not as well as the predator hyrax I have, with the same PL foams.

I have 3 Ascenders that all run the stock battery tray. It takes a shorty pack. I have had an impossible time finding a 3s shorty locally. My LHS carries all of the Horizon stuff., Dynamite included. Simple as that.

As far as issues with their batteries, can’t say I have had any of great significance. I have had a couple puff after a few years of use, but I never used to be on top of storing them at the proper charge.

Not that they're available yet either... but the SSD 6-bolt OD gears should fit the new Axial locker, right? I've never held a 6 bolt spool in my hand, but it's on the same bolt circle as the 3 bolt, yeah?

Based on my Vanquish and SSD 6 bolt gears, it is the same bolt circle as the original AR44 gears.

If they are using the same bolt pattern i would imagine so, however we will have our OD gears very soon too...guaranteed to fit

I'll be going with the Rock Beast XL's with Proline dual stage.

Cool deal, thanks for responding so fast. I know I said I'd build this one stock, but if the OD gears are available in time, I'll make an exception for them.

Is the product weight of 4lbs even without electronics, Rich?

Some of the Axial vehicle weights mention that they include electronics and some don't - and some have no weight mentioned at all (UMG10, for example)...

This is on the Axial website product "TECH SPECS" tab that I'm referring to.

The Capra is listed at 4lbs even...

Yes our 6 bolt pattern radius is the same as the original 3 bolt gear/locker.

THat sounds like it might be a winning combo!

Good question for foam sizing purposes.

I think I realize why I'm so interested in the Capra. We have so many scalers/trail trucks right now that the market needed something different.

Yep, zoomed in and it says 1.76 X 4.73 on the sidewall in Axial website pics.

I've got a set of G8 Pro-Line 1.9 BFG Krawlers with their single stage foams and love em!

I think I'm going to sell my Wraith to finance this.

4lbs without electronics...I don't one without but when i weighed the stock one with "basic" electronics it came in at 4.8lbs.

It's been a while since i got that info for the web team LOL

FWIW, My personal rig, with the Vanquish wheels, Teken RX4, ROC412, Spektrum Alum servo and 3S lipo comes in at 5.9lbs.

Greatly appreciated, Rich!

So - roughly the same as the Wraith 1.9, which shows 4.65 with RTR electronics, and plastic links.

Considering the Capra has thick stainless links and portal gears at the end of each axle, pretty darn light - probably because the cage and skid, etc is smaller...

I think this rig will flat SCOOT with 540-size or even "Stubby" motors and 3S.

I ordered up a set of 4.19 NottSix ChooDoo KLRs to run on my Capra.

I already have a set of 4.75 in Hyrax (Predator) if the ChooDoos are to small.
