Bilinvic. Since you are using the trail masters and vp products your setup is close to mine less the rc bros weights. I picked up some 750slw hubs but they seem to stick out a little too much from the car. If you didn't have the weights what length could you use to bring the wheels back toward the car more? Thanks for all the help again. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

| Re: bilinvic's RR10 Bomber Build
The maiden voyage went amazingly well. I was pretty confident it would because of the extensive bench testing and tuning I performed prior to hitting the rocks. My intention for the Bomber is to build an extremely capable crawler with the attributes of being a rock bouncer....and it does this really well. The longer wheelbase helps with reaching ledges to pull itself up the rocks, but at the same time is a disadvantage for break overs....which is fine, because that's when the rock bouncing capabilities come in, especially with sensored brushless power. The front / rear weight bias is perfect and no further tuning is required. The CoG and lateral stability is also perfect, cross hill crawling was incredible and the Bomber rarely flipped in some extreme situations; it completely blew my mind how good it performed. The spare tire didn't hang up at all, which was an initial concern for me. Dual shocks on all four corners worked excellent, the perfect amount of articulation was dialed in. I will keep the spring rates and shock fluid viscosity the same. I experienced very minor torque twist on some extreme climbs (the front passenger side wheel would lift). It's not enough to worry about, but I'm a little OCD () so I will wait patiently for Vanquish to replenish their stock of rear sway bars. I may also add a stiffer spring rate to the driver's side front shock to help alleviate the twist too. The SSD CNC machined black acetol skids for the diamond axles are definitely worth it, no pumpkin hang-ups; the scratches and gouges are proof of that. Vanquish F9 axles will never see my rigs unless they come out with a similar style skid. Way to go SSD! I have said it before and I will say it again, the Proline 2.2 Flat Iron XL tires are spectacular (stuffed with CI 2-stage foams). Today's crawl was all wet rocks and these tires gripped like crazy. The only other tire I will consider for the Bomber is the 2.2 KLR when it comes out. I did experience some sputtering with the Holmes Hobbies Trail Master BL540 motor (3100 kV) on the very low end, so this motor is coming out and will be replaced with a Tekin ROC412 3100kV motor. Overall, I am overwhelmed with how great this Bomber has turned out and it will only get better! The crawls, climbs and bouncing that it did today was wicked, and the RC'ers that I was with were also very fascinated with it's performance and capabilities...not to mention it's beauty!!! Way to go Axial....you hit a grand slam home run with this rig. Last edited by bilinvic; 08-18-2017 at 09:11 PM. |

I dissembled the Bomber to replace the motor and to clean and look for any issues, such as clearance issues and loose screws. Tekin ROC412 motor is in; 32p 10T pinion. As you can see from the second photo, after three hours of extreme rock crawling, there is no clearance issues with the Yeti MIP driveshaft on the spur cover with a centered rear diff. Wow! I don't have close to the crawling/Rc knowledge as a lot on RCC. But threads like this sure are informative. Thank you! J.A.W - just another wraith |

| Re: bilinvic's RR10 Bomber Build Quick question... are the lockouts something that SSD no longer sell? I checked for the Wraith and it's not listed on their website at this point. TIA!

One other question... The front and rear diff's have different number of gear teeth between the r&p gears? Am I correct to assume that this because the ring gear is bigger in the rear diff?

| Re: bilinvic's RR10 Bomber Build Not bigger, same size. Reason for that is the front will spin faster now so it helps pull it up climbs and also makes the steering feel like it turns better. Doing that is personal preference, most done to crawlers.

And the extra king shocks are just the Kings without springs and not the scale shocks right ? What springs are on the others?

If i can step out on a limb without offense and say this statement is incorrect. YOU took a great looking platform that was offered to us and put the best of the best parts on and tuned it to perform as you stated. So, Axial may have hit a Grand Slam with the presentation of the RR10 but now that it 10% Axial and 90% bilinvic, you pitched a no hitter in the World Series Game 3. Hope that makes sense.
